This is your time to soften,
To rest and to melt.
Find a comfortable position lying down,
Perhaps on your mat or your bed.
Allow your body to be fully supported.
Take a deep,
Slow breath in through the nose and a long,
Gentle exhale out through the mouth.
Again,
Breathing in and breathing out,
Let yourself land here.
I invite you to bring your awareness to the crown of your head.
Now,
Notice the back of the head,
Where it meets the ground.
Allow it to soften,
To melt into the earth beneath you.
Feel the weight of the skull being held,
Nothing to carry,
Nothing to do.
Soften the space between your eyebrows,
Let your temples relax,
The eyes rest heavy in their sockets,
The cheeks,
The jaw,
The tongue,
All melting,
Releasing,
Unholding.
Notice the back of your neck,
The curve where your head meets your spine.
With every breath out,
Let it release,
Sinking down,
Dissolving into the support beneath you.
The shoulders soften,
Heavy,
Falling away from the ears,
Arms and hands surrender,
Melting into the ground,
Each finger unclenching and letting go.
The chest loosens,
Heart soft and open,
With each exhale allow any heaviness or worry to melt down into the earth,
Where it can be transmuted into nourishment.
The back follows,
Each vertebra relaxing and melting into support.
There is nothing to do,
Nowhere to be but here.
The belly softens,
The muscles releasing,
The breath moves freely,
Waves flow in and out,
Washing away tension.
Let your hips,
Pelvis and lower back grow heavier,
Dropping down,
Grounding you deeper with every exhale.
The thighs soften,
Knees relax,
Calves,
Shins,
Ankles release and finally the feet,
The soles,
The toes,
Everything melts into the ground,
Any last remnants of stress dissolving downward.
Now imagine the earth receiving everything you've let go of,
The stress,
The fears,
The worries,
See it composted,
Alchemized,
Transformed into fertile energy,
Nothing is wasted,
Everything is returned as nourishment.
And as the earth gives back,
Imagine a gentle light rising up through you,
From your feet to your legs,
To your hips,
Belly,
Chest,
Arms,
Throat,
Face,
Crown.
This light is spacious,
Weightless,
Freeing.
You are lighter,
You are softer,
You are whole.
Rest here for as long as you need.
When you feel ready,
Begin to wiggle your fingers and toes,
Gently roll your head side to side,
Perhaps hug your knees to your chest,
And when you return to your day,
Carry this feeling of softness with you.
