When you've been focused on others and your energy feels low or your mind feels scattered and you find yourself scrolling or eating more mindlessly than usual,
It may be time to care for yourself using this grounding meditation.
So take a seat and start to find comfort and ease within your body.
Relax your shoulders down your back,
Gently closing over your eyes and see if you can sink your tailbone deeper into your seat,
Making space for your breath to deepen and slow on its own.
On your next inhale,
See if you can fill your entire stomach and diaphragm,
Letting it push out a little bit and on the exhale use your stomach muscles to get every last ounce of air out of your body.
Continue this cycle,
Deepening and lengthening each breath until you find comfort within your breath and can allow it to come back to its normal rhythm with much more ease and fluidity.
Now bring your attention to your heart and imagine your breath going in and out of the center of your heart.
You can place your hand there if it helps you connect.
Now we're going to express our gratitude for our heart and the work it does for us without any effort from us each day.
Thank your heart for sustaining you and keeping you alive.
How often we take this vital organ for granted.
Really breathe into your heart space and feel the regenerative emotion of gratitude for your life source.
Now imagine a line going down the center of your heart,
Down the center of your body,
All the way to the floor.
And we're going to ground ourselves into the earth using this line.
So imagine this line traveling through the floor,
Into the earth,
Through the layers of dirt and all the way to the core of the earth.
This line is energetically connecting you with the earth.
Imagine energy running through this line,
Allowing you to feel the energy that courses through the center of our planet.
This line grounds you to the earth,
Your home,
And connects you with everything that exists on this earthly plane.
Imagine the energy and vitality of the earth is flowing up your legs,
Through your abdomen,
Up your chest,
And directly into the center of your heart.
Bask in this grounding energy flowing freely between you and the earth.
Have gratitude for its sustaining and healing power.
Now with every in-breath,
Imagine that you are receiving energy and vitality from the earth.
And with every out-breath,
You are returning gratitude and love for the earth.
See the interdependent relationship between you and the earth and let your breath lead the cycle of receiving energy on the inhale and giving gratitude and love on the exhale.
Inhale receive,
Exhale give thanks.
Inhale receive,
Exhale give thanks.
Repeating this cycle for the next few minutes,
Filling your whole body with clean,
Renewing breath from the earth and expressing your gratitude for its vitality.
Namaste.
Now relax your breathing into its natural rhythm and slowly start to bring your awareness back into the room around you.
Wiggle your fingers and toes,
Waking up your body and when you are ready,
Open your eyes.
I wish you a grounded and centered day my friend.
Namaste.
