Here's a reminder in case you need it that you have an indefatigable heart.
Now there are all parts of our bodies that obviously do get tired and fatigue and have an energy drain and require a lot of rest and if we're suffering in particular from illness,
Chronic fatigue,
Exhaustion and weariness,
That's a lot to deal with the feeling of being weak and tired.
It's sometimes easy to embody that and think this is who I am,
I'm just weakness,
I'm just,
I have no energy,
I'm not really in life anymore and life isn't really in me.
So this is a powerful reminder that there is a part of you,
A very,
Very important,
Significant part of you,
In fact the most important and significant part of you,
Which is your heart,
Which is indefatigable.
When you are suffering from fatigue,
The word fatigue can sometimes become a neon sign in your life,
It can become the main part of your vocabulary and that can be overwhelming for us,
Identifying with a word like that.
So being able to feel this indefatigability,
Feeling your body,
This huge muscle which is more than a muscle,
This huge temple of being,
A place of light and love inside of you,
Which is indefatigable,
Is just great,
Is a great little practice.
So stretch out wherever you are now,
Claim your space,
Create some space for yourself here.
You might be lying back or sitting,
Just give yourself a chance to stretch into all that space if you can.
Spread out your being,
Have a sense that it can take up space and that it can fully spread out into and relax,
So that your inner space can do the same.
And then as you take some nice,
Delicious,
Long breaths for yourself,
Feeling yourself breathing from your belly into your heart,
Feeling that stretch there,
And pouring that breath from your heart throughout all parts of your being,
Just letting it go.
As you feel that,
Breathe with these facts about your indefatigable heart,
The science of it,
And just take the words in.
So of course your heart is a muscle,
It has a beat,
And that beat is what makes you,
You,
And alive and here and now.
Your heart actually beats around a hundred thousand times a day.
I mean that's energy right there,
A hundred thousand times a day,
And you,
You don't have to provide that energy,
That's an automatic energy inside of you.
So voluntary movement,
The things responsible for our mobility,
The movement of our skeleton and muscles and so on,
Voluntary movement needs nerve impulses and energy so that it can be keep moving,
Your body can keep moving.
So a lack of energy source affects us.
It can,
As we know,
Have us hit a wall,
Where all we can do is rest,
But while you're resting your heart,
Even though your heart rate slows down when you rest,
Is still beating,
Beating,
Beating.
It doesn't fatigue,
It doesn't weary.
The cardiac muscle pumps on its own,
As long as it's in a healthy state and you continue to be alive.
In fact,
In the average lifetime,
The heart has the ability to beat over three billion times.
Your indefatigable heart.
As you take these breaths,
You might place a hand on your heart and feel it rise to meet your heart as you breathe in,
To meet your hand as you breathe in,
And then gather back into itself as you breathe out.
Feel that contact between your hand and your heart,
And as you do that,
Remember what's there.
All that is within your heart.
Your heart is a galaxy,
It's spacious and generous.
Breathe there,
Feel it fill,
Feel it gather back in to its strength,
To its courage,
To its light,
To its love.
Your heart is full of feeling,
Including that magical feeling of love.
There's a whole field of love inside of you.
Think now of all the people you love and who love you.
You might still have your hand on your heart,
You could have another hand on your belly.
Feel the rise and fall,
The energy of the life of your heart.
Waves there of love,
The people you love,
The pets you love,
The love you have of life.
Think of experiences you've cherished that light you up.
Think of things that interest you,
That capture your attention,
That you can look around you,
You can look outside and you can see things that absorb you,
The beauty that's there.
You can literally breathe that beauty into your being and you love it,
You love what you see,
What you're absorbed in.
Think of those things.
And then remind yourself of the resources of your heart,
The treasures it's full of that are always there for you.
If you look into that supply,
Courage,
The strength to go on even when it seems like there's no strength anywhere else in you.
That breath of life you keep breathing into yourself which says,
I can do this,
It's okay.
And from that courage,
Its ability to encourage others to breathe that light into them and say,
It's okay,
You can go on.
It's compassion,
The warmth of your heart's compassion which you have offered as a blessing to people in the world when it's most been needed.
Your sensitivity,
Your kindness,
Your generosity.
Your heart is generous,
Sensitive and kind and it pumps inside of you,
It gives that life to you too.
And it's joy,
It's playfulness,
It's delight.
Think of times when you've been tickled pink,
You've laughed,
You felt silly maybe on the inside but a silliness that has you giggling.
You'll laugh perhaps of some kind of comedy,
People who make you laugh situations.
Your heart is full of laughter and joy and delight.
And breathe and remind yourself of the laughter and the joy and the delight and if anything,
Any notes come up that seem tender or vulnerable here,
Let them be touched by this heart,
This indefatigable source of wonder and joy and magic.
Let them be touched here,
Let them come in,
It's okay,
It's okay for them to come.
Those sore places can be touched tenderly by this indefatigable beating of love,
Of light,
Of laughter,
Of compassion,
Of kindness and the energies of courage and strength,
Your warrior heart.
So breathing confidently from this incredible temple that lives and breathes and beats inside you and touches the whole world,
You might like to say to yourself,
My heart brings life to me and to the world.
My heart brings life to me and to the world.
Filling up,
Cherishing,
Feeling the space,
Feeling the expansion there.
There's always more heart,
Eh?
When you get in there you feel there's always more there.
You have a big heart,
A huge heart,
The heart of a giant.
My heart brings life to me and to the world.
The world needs your heart,
You know that,
You know whose lives you've touched and will continue to touch.
My heart brings life to me and to the world.
Just now sink in,
Cherish your breathing for a little more,
Just sink in,
Relax,
Let your heart do the work,
It can do it on its own.
Feel your heartbeat,
Feel the life of your heart and just bathe there for a few more moments.
