This is a meditation practice to keep in your toolbox for when you are feeling weary,
Maybe you have pain in your body,
Maybe you are recovering from illness or on a healing journey.
And it's a portal to wellness meditation because we have to step into that portal and follow our own bodies and their guidance.
It's really very common when we're experiencing pain or discomfort in our bodies to want to fight it or run away from it,
To try and extinguish,
Stamp out parts of ourselves.
And it's also very common to feel that we're trying to heal our whole humanity,
Who we are and everything about us in order to find this idea of perfect health.
We don't want to accidentally try to heal our humanity because our humanity is our gift,
Our human spirit.
And that is what it will support us in all of our journeys and especially our wellness and recovery journey.
Every part of you that is arising is a part of your wholeness.
And what we find is profound is that when we make space for our pain and our discomfort,
And when we give ourselves permission to be how we are and who we are,
Things change for the better and healing happens.
So in this practice,
We're going to welcome ourselves and welcome in particular the presence of our inner guide and inner nurturer with all their belief in us and connection to the resources that will allow us to be truly free in the world and in our bodies.
As you settle in,
Give yourself the gift of time.
Let your eyes close if they want to.
If they want to,
They don't have to.
Simply feel into your own body as you land inside of it and how you can make yourself as comfortable as possible.
Just be yourself.
Begin to create a sense of sacred space and sanctuary for yourself.
A sacred time to simply be.
And what a pleasure that is.
No demands to hold yourself to attention,
Allowing yourself to surrender towards a space of effortlessness.
Invite your breath to move downward through your body and feel particularly how in your exhalation there can be the pleasure of release and relief.
Feeling your roots settling into this time and space and the ground underneath where you are.
The wide,
Stable,
Ever-constant earth with her depth and her nourishment and her love.
Breathe into your roots and feel that nourishment and love coming up back to you and entering your body.
And as you are and as you are breathing these breaths and cherishing this time to slow down and step away from action and have some private and precious time with yourself,
Allow everything that wants to come forward to come.
Particularly you might use your exhalation,
Its length,
Its slow release to offer your body and yourself space and patience so that that which wants to come forward can.
And that you're not going to stamp any part of you out.
You might think to yourself it's nice finally to have a chance to breathe.
To feel that movement of your own breath and how soft it is and how free it is.
It doesn't need anything from you.
It's always there like your first breath of life from the moment you entered this realm.
It's fresh and new from the air around you.
It doesn't demand anything of you and you need make no demands of your breath.
Can you welcome the freedom and spaciousness of that natural rhythm?
Always there.
And take this as full permission.
Permission to exist.
Permission to be exactly as you are right now with no demands.
Notice if you're trying to block or focus.
Instead be gently curious with what you're seeing and feeling.
Even with the difficult sticky things that come up.
Can you be gently curious rather than judging?
Your thoughts and feelings are allowed to have space to exist.
And here is exactly the space for that.
And you're cultivating a good space.
And your body and your mind and heart will reward you.
Perhaps you can feel gravity caressing your body,
Descending through your spine and allowing you to surrender completely to a resting state.
And if it feels enjoyable then take some moments to enjoy the feelings of tension gradually releasing from your muscles and your bones.
Let your breath wash through your body in soothing clearing waves like the waves of the ocean washing the shore.
If there are any parts that particularly need to feel that surrender with gravity and the release of your breath moving out send that blessing to those places with kindness.
Feeling those sweet waves of breath as a lovely massage,
A soothing touch on the inside parts of you which are also precious.
And allowing yourself to drop in with each breath,
With each wave of relaxation closer to yourself,
Toward your inner home.
And feeling again the spot where you are on earth right now wherever you are and how grounded you are held safely and soundly by the gentle magnetism of gravity down into the earth's loving core.
And maybe you can say to yourself,
I am here now in life.
Feel your breathing connecting you even more deeply to yourself,
A connection to you,
Your deepest self,
Your real self and affirm to yourself that you are safe and free in this personal space.
To show up for that,
Having a space that is just that,
Yours and personal and sacred.
And you can own it and claim it.
And here everything that you are and everything that comes up is welcome.
And there's such a freedom in that and a permission in that simply to be and to be yourself freely.
Your body loves freedom and it loves permission to be itself.
What comes back to you or forward to you about times,
Visions of your body being free,
Your spirit being free,
Your personality and nature free to express themselves in all the times of your life.
Let any visions that come be guidance and be kind to any bittersweetness or pain that wants to be assimilated,
Processed,
Released.
In your fullness,
Bring one hand to your heart and take your other hand to your belly,
Feeling that connection with your own being,
With your depths,
Your essence that is unique,
The individual you.
Breathe into the contact there between your hands and your fullness,
The fullness of your essence and the individual you.
And feeling into what kind of space you can hold for your real self.
One that's nourishing,
One that's supportive,
That's inspiring,
Honoring and celebrating.
Welcoming yourself unconditionally and with pride and respect and honor.
Every day you show up,
No matter how you're feeling,
And you enter into life.
You are a strong human spirit,
You are supported in being you.
Offer yourself kindness and love and compassion and make more room for your delightful,
Worthy and wonderful self.
And receive all these gifts of energy that are arising for you as thoughts,
As feelings,
As physical sensations.
In whatever form they're coming,
They are a gift.
Even if they're challenging,
They are a gift of energy and they are feeling you.
And you them and they are life inside of you,
Guiding you,
Communing with you.
Respond with love,
Soften your breath here.
You are safe in this moment and this spaciousness is healing and relieving.
So make yourself at home and say,
This is me,
This is home and I am supported in being me and I am grateful for being me.
And just melt and rest in those energies until you're ready to come back.
