Gentle hugs meditation.
Sometimes that's just what we need,
Right?
And that's all we need.
We don't want to be fixed.
We don't even necessarily want to talk about it.
We just want to feel some kindness and some closeness and some gentleness.
And if that's you right now,
Then please join me in this meditation where we're gonna bring in those gentle hugs deeply into our beings,
Just for a little while.
So to begin with,
Invite yourself to find a nice space for yourself that feels to you gentle and kind.
That might mean just adding a little bit of comfort.
You might want a blanket around you,
For example,
Or a cushion.
You might even want to hug a stuffy,
A bear,
Hold a crystal.
Just find yourself what you need for a short time of receiving gentleness.
Warmth.
Sweetness.
And give yourself a little chance to settle into that spot.
And just feel your breathing,
Your breath,
Gently flowing in your body,
Not needing to change anything about it.
Being gentle with yourself as each breath you take allows you to enter inward.
And feel your own presence again fully.
And invite yourself to go in gently and kindly.
Is it possible perhaps to soften the muscles of your face a little and even lift the edges of your mouth into a gentle smile,
If even for a moment?
And as you do that,
Perhaps you feel other parts of your body that would like to gently release,
Maybe just a little,
Maybe a lot.
Perhaps you could make a gentle invitation to your muscles and to your bones to allow themselves to drop their weight fully.
When you think of gentle hugs,
How does your body feel?
Perhaps you can tune into now and feel parts of you that are really craving,
Craving that feeling.
How does that craving feel?
The longing that you feel at the moment for some kindness and gentleness and to be held.
Can you allow those parts of you to feel that are asking for gentle hugs to come forward now?
Without blaming or shaming them,
Being sweet and merciful to yourself,
It's really great when our bodies tell us what we need and when different parts of us tell us what they need,
Because we're made of so much.
Tell us what they need because we're made of so many parts,
Right?
Younger versions of ourselves,
Versions in the future,
Parts that have known a lot of joy and kindness,
And parts that maybe haven't felt so much of that.
Welcome all the parts and especially can you listen to and feel those parts that are asking now?
Please can I have some gentleness and gentle hugs?
And you can do this by breathing into all of your body and feeling where there's a charge,
A charge,
Some sensation of longing,
Of craving,
Of asking for gentle hugs.
Could be a charge in your heart,
In your chest for instance.
Your heart wants a hug.
It could be in your belly deep down that you're feeling sensations,
Needing,
Of wanting,
Of craving some kindness and peace.
It could be in parts of you that feel weary or jaded,
Your shoulders,
Perhaps your forehead.
It could be in parts of you that have wanted to ask for a long time and are afraid they won't receive kindness and gentle hugs,
You might feel that in your throat.
And you might feel that in your stomach,
In your throat and in your midsection,
Your solar plexus.
These places associated with our will and our voice and expression.
And when you've found those places which are already craving a hug,
Say to them,
Yes,
Yes,
Of course you can,
Of course you can.
Of course you can,
Of course you can have some gentle hugs now.
The first thing you can do is go straight to those places.
Let me show you a nice technique.
Take a breath in and take your arms out with your palms up as if you were about to embrace someone.
And then embracing the air as if the air is full of gentleness,
Hug it in towards your heart,
Your throat,
Your body,
Your belly,
Wherever you feel it.
Let's do that a few times.
So feel around you,
All space around you is full of gentle hugs waiting to come to you.
And then take your arms out with your palms up.
Breathing in.
And then as you exhale,
Perhaps gathering that towards you.
But play with your breath and see whether you like the exhale as you take your arms out.
And then you want to breathe and move that hug towards you with your hands,
With your arms.
Whether the reverse breath feels better because there's no right or wrong when we hug right,
It's just the kind of hug we love the most.
And keep that flow for a while,
Gathering in these gentle hugs towards you.
We're going to add something to this.
But for the moment,
It's just feeling the energy of doing this,
How we can bring gentleness and hugs in towards us with our hands,
With our arms.
Be conscious that your hands are and your arms grow out from your heart,
Right?
Your heart is mobilized by the movement of your arms.
When we love something,
We reach for it.
When we don't love something so much,
We use our arms to say no and push it away.
So now we're gathering in what we love.
And if anything feels like it's coming your way,
You can also use the opposite movement and say,
No,
Not now.
Take your palms out,
Push it to one side.
I'm just gathering gentle hugs now.
That motion might feel good to you if things are coming in.
Those little thoughts and worries,
That's okay.
We can go back to those,
They're valid.
But right now,
We really want to luxuriate,
Don't we,
In these gentle hugs.
At various points,
You might feel your hands want to rest on a spot and press in a little.
Maybe they want to come to your chest,
Press into your heart a little.
Maybe you want to massage your heart and really take the hug inside.
Now think about the best hugs you have received or would love to receive and who they come from.
Who would you love to be held by now?
It might be a friend,
A partner,
A child,
An animal.
It might be that you want to put your arms around a tree.
Everything can offer love and can hold us and be held.
Think of the energy and the people,
The elements that offer you gentleness,
That hug your heart,
That allow gentleness to permeate your being and soften you into kindness and feelings of peace,
Friendliness.
And maybe you could gather that person,
That element,
Or those people in,
As if they're in a circle around you and they all want to offer you hugs.
And you could either play with drawing one at a time,
Using this motion with your breath,
With your arms,
Bringing them in closer,
Smelling them,
Feeling their touch,
Hearing them whisper gentle words,
Or all at once,
A whole group hug.
And with people,
These people could be people who are still earth side with us,
Or people who have transitioned through the thin veil and are always watching us and would love to come in now.
You can call on them for their gentle hugs.
Keep going.
Feeling the love,
Softening,
Softening into it,
The way we soften into a bodily hug,
The way the hug melts into us.
How is your breath feeling in your body?
How is it moving now?
Is there warmth anywhere or tingling?
How is your breath showing you how the hug,
The gentleness,
Is infusing your body,
Flowing in your body,
Warming up the parts of you that love this kindness,
This gentleness,
Softening the parts of you that want to receive its balm?
Are there any thoughts or words being offered into your being as you feel this gentleness coming in,
Words that are a balm to your soul?
There may be,
And if there are,
Perhaps you'd like to say them to yourself out loud.
At some point,
Your hands,
Your arms might just rest.
Rest in close.
Tuck them in close to you,
Maybe into your heart.
And you're just feeling the energy,
The flow of these gentle hugs coming in.
They're still coming through,
Your body flowing with the receiving,
The receiving,
And the deep down infusion of these gentle hugs.
And for a short while now,
Just a little while,
You can bathe in this flow,
This gentleness,
This hug,
All these hugs coming in.
With those who are with you now,
Quietly and visibly,
But there.
Just enjoy the energy and sink in.
And I'll be back shortly,
After a while,
So that we can transition.
But for now,
Surrender into the hugs.

And now I'm going to invite you,
If you feel readiness,
To awaken and transition.
So go gently here.
Start to become conscious again of your presence,
And where you may be sitting or lying.
Touch of your body on the support you're on.
And the touch of your clothes on your body,
Or blankets.
The air on your skin.
And just being with that sensing of your presence again,
Do take a moment to feel the sensations in your body right now.
There may be feelings of humming,
Dancing,
Tingling.
These are healthy signs of energy having balanced,
So it can circulate freely again.
There may be feelings still of softness,
Gentleness.
And your heart may feel full or peaceful.
Take a moment to notice any even small feelings of relaxation or softening that weren't there before.
Take a moment to feel the rhythm of your beautiful breath,
Gentle,
Ever-present in its kindness and support in your body.
And then take some big breaths in and out again,
And ask your body how it would like to move and stretch and follow its instincts.
Like a cat waking up from a good nap.
When your eyes are ready to open,
Keep your gaze very gentle and soft.
Give yourself time to allow the shapes and textures and colors of your environment to assimilate.
And then when you're ready and you're up again,
Take one intentional step into your day as a step of kindness and being kind above all to yourself.
Stay close to your heart and know that any time you want to,
You can be in the presence again of these gentle hugs.
