Welcome,
My friend.
My name is Samantha.
Today,
We are gonna connect with nature.
To begin this meditation,
Please bring kind awareness to what is around you outside.
I invite you to try to connect your feet with the ground,
And if available,
Sit or stand with your back against a tree.
As you do this,
If you feel safe doing so,
Slowly close your eyes.
If you are against a tree trunk with your body,
Feel the connection to the tree.
If not,
Feel the connection of the ground beneath your feet.
Consider how a tree is simply being.
It isn't striving,
It isn't trying,
And it's not judging.
It's just alive,
And it's peaceful in its presence.
Let that presence of the tree be with you.
That unconditional support that the tree brings to the universe,
Either connecting with you or the connection you have with your feet to the universe.
Let those prep you up.
There is nothing for you to do right now.
Just feel your weight of your body with the earth.
The sense of your feet or your legs connected with the ground.
Consider the life of beings beneath you,
The microscopic,
The unseen,
Underground,
Supporting and sustaining everything around you.
Simply thank them for allowing you to share their space with you today.
Feel the presence of the ground as they hold you up.
Notice the strong support it gives without asking anything from you in return.
Feel the live energy the earth brings to you.
Notice if allowing yourself to be still is bringing you any emotions.
If it is,
Allow those emotions to be there with you.
When we take time to be present,
It's normal to notice these emotions,
Especially if uncomfortable ones arise.
Without these emotions,
We wouldn't be human.
Notice the temperature of the air against your skin.
Tune into this aliveness of your body,
Feeling the temperatures around you.
Notice if there's any type of breeze,
Any sensations against your skin.
As you do this,
Take a few deep breaths.
As you're breathing,
Offer gratitude.
For this free,
Nutritious air going into your lungs,
Feeling your lungs expanding and contracting and the sensations of air nourishing you and keeping you alive.
Reflect on how the air is feeding your body,
Your blood and your cells,
How it's supporting your heart and your organs,
Your brain and your skin.
Now feel your tongue in your mouth.
Notice where it's sitting,
What it's touching.
Allow yourself to taste whatever is in the air,
Even if that taste is nothing.
What do you taste?
Are there any other physical sensations on your skin?
Whether it be heat or coolness,
Do you feel any sunlight?
Notice that feeling.
Feel the fabric of your clothes against your body.
Notice if there's any sound coming from your mouth.
Tune into any sounds happening around you.
Perhaps there are birds singing.
If there are,
Maybe there are different types.
Maybe there are different animals.
Notice any of these sounds.
Are there any sounds maybe you didn't notice before?
Are more emotions arising from being present and tuning in?
Allow them to be here with you.
Use the sounds around you to become more aware of the life existing around you.
Again,
If there are any emotions arising,
Whether they are wanted or unwanted,
See if you can allow them to share the space with you.
Bring them in with an open heart.
They are energy,
Alive like the rest of you,
Asking simply to be allowed to exist.
If your eyes are closed,
Go ahead and open them again.
Continue to breathe and notice what you see in front of you.
Take in any textures,
The trees,
Or the ground.
Maybe any flowers or plants.
Need to have variations of colors in the sky.
Maybe different shades of green,
Brown,
Black,
Gray.
Any colors you might see.
The shape of branches or any other flowers.
The natural movement of life.
Perhaps you might see a bunny hopping or birds flying.
And offer some gratitude to your surroundings for sharing their space with you and for supporting all of life,
Including you.
You are a living being,
Awake and alive now.
There will never be another now,
And there will never be another you.
When you are ready,
Thank Mother Nature for the time you have spent to reground yourself today.
Thank you for your time,
And I wish you energy to go forward with your day.
Take care,
My friend.
