Welcome to this visualization where we'll be going on a journey into a woodland,
A place where you feel safe and secure.
Every step you take you release any tension.
You'll be invited to rest in the woodland and allow the golden light from above to surround you in a cocoon of safety.
This trap is beneficial if you struggle with stress or overwhelm.
If the mind is overactive,
You may find this a gentle story to help you soothe and soften and slow down ready for sleep.
My name's Sandhya.
I hope you enjoy inviting the eyes to close or your gaze to soften.
Take a deep breath in,
Filling your lungs completely and now exhale slowly,
Releasing any tension or weight you may be carrying.
In and out.
In and out.
In and out.
Continue to breathe deeply and with each breath feel a gentle wave of relaxation flowing through you,
Allowing that relaxation to deepen,
Inviting in ease,
Letting go of any heaviness,
Allowing each breath to nourish your entire being.
In and out.
Allowing now the breath to return to its usual pace and taking your mind now into an ancient woodland.
You look around and above you stand tall,
Steady trees that sway slightly from side to side.
You hear the leaves moving with the breeze like a soothing lullaby.
Sunlight filters down through the canopy of trees.
You can see beams of golden light drifting up and down,
Scattering golden patches that dance across the woodland floor.
And as you begin to slowly bore through the woodland,
You can hear the distant call of a wood pigeon.
And the fluttering of wings as a small bird darts in between the branches and the sound of an eagle way up high.
The air here feels alive and slightly cool against your skin.
And with each step that you take,
You wander deeper into stillness.
Deeper into safety.
The weight of the outside world begins to slip away.
The path you're taking begins to curve gently,
Leading you past a fallen log draped in velvet moss.
In the distance,
You can hear the sound of water.
It sounds like a hidden stream.
And you pause for a moment.
And as you breathe in,
You take in the scent of damp earth.
And as you breathe out,
Letting go,
Feeling tension melt away.
You feel held and safe within this woodland.
You notice just up ahead a ray of sunlight spilling onto the path.
The light invites you forward as though gently guiding you.
As you get closer,
The trees start to open,
Creating a natural circle of space.
A small,
Quiet clearing that feels almost like it was made just for you.
Perhaps there's a bench there where you can rest a while.
The wood is soft and dry.
You close your eyes and allow the light from above to wrap softly around you,
Forming a cocoon of safety.
The light doesn't ask anything of you.
It simply surrounds you,
Kind,
Protective.
Each breath you've taken,
You're breathing calm.
Each breath out,
Releasing what no longer serves you.
You may notice thoughts arriving like birds crossing the sky.
There's no need to follow them.
Simply let them pass.
Have your attention on my words.
This cocoon of light reminds you you are safe and you are supported.
Allow the woodland to hold you.
Rest here,
Doing nothing but being held.
Breath in.
Breath out.
Breath in.
Breath out.
Time slows down.
Peace.
Peace surrounds you.
Whenever thoughts arrive,
Acknowledge them and let them float away.
Returning once more to the safety of light.
This light is received by all of your cells in the body,
Balancing them,
Allowing each one to be in harmony with the other.
This golden light slowly softens now,
Fading back into the woodland around you,
Dissolving into the trees.
Knowing this cocoon of safety is always here for you.
You begin to stand up from the bench you've been sitting on and continue your walk through the woodland.
You notice once more the sound of trickling water and the path leads you to a small stream that weaves through the woodland.
The water glistens where the sunlight touches it.
You pause here and watch the water flowing over roots and over pebbles you watch leaves flowing downstream.
The sound of the stream seems to carry away any heaviness you've been carrying.
Breath in and breath out.
You allow the water to carry any worry,
Stress or pain away.
You notice to the side of the stream there are wildflowers in bloom with soft shades of purple,
Yellow and white.
You notice their delicate shapes and how they move gently swaying from side to side as though greeting you.
A bee moves lazily between the blossoms its hub blending with the woodland's quiet song.
You breathe deeply here in and out.
Allow this beauty and softness to fill your body with calm and warmth.
Breathing in and breathing out.
Breathing in and breathing out.
