Transcript

Mindful driving meditation with affirmations.

Remembering your priority is to focus on your driving first.

Take a breath in and away.

In and away.

As you start your drive,

Bring the attention to the surroundings.

Noticing the colors of the sky.

The road ahead of you.

The cars around you.

Bring the awareness to the sounds of your driving.

The sound of the car engine.

The gentle swish of the tires on the road.

Maybe you can even hear the occasional chirp of a bird.

Notice the sounds now.

Allow these sounds to remind you of your connection to the world around you.

Grounding you into the here and now.

Awareness of the body.

Notice the texture of the steering wheel beneath your hands.

Notice the way your body shifts slightly with each turn and movement.

Allow these sensations to keep you connected with this present moment.

Enhancing your awareness and focus.

Repeat silently or loud,

I am calm,

I am focused,

When I'm driving.

I am calm,

I am focused,

When I'm driving.

I drive with patience and peace.

And as you encounter the drivers,

Practice your patience and compassion.

If someone drives recklessly,

Take a deep breath.

Remind yourself,

I remain calm and centered.

Bring the awareness to any sensations in the body.

How the road feels under your tires,

The vibrations in the car,

The clothes against your skin.

Let each moment be a reminder of your intention to connect with the world around you.

And to stay present,

Focusing on your driving.

Repeating your affirmation,

I'm a mindful,

Calm driver.

Feeling grateful for this wonderful day.

As you continue your drive,

Reminding yourself,

I am a calm and mindful driver.

These affirmations are always there to go back over again and again.

Allow each trip you make to be an opportunity to take a mindful moment.

This is Sandhya,

Have a great day.
