Overwhelm can feel all-consuming, but with the right tools, you can find your way back to calm. Autism: From Overwhelm to Calm is a short 3-minute affirmation practice designed to help regulate emotions and ease sensory overload. By softly repeating a calming affirmation, you’ll create a steady rhythm that soothes the mind and body. If your thoughts wander, that’s okay—simply return to your affirmation with kindness. When to Listen: During moments of sensory or emotional overwhelm After a stressful interaction or overstimulating environment Before bed to help unwind Anytime you need a quick, grounding reset This gentle practice is here to support you—take these three minutes to breathe, reset, and find peace.

Autism.

Calm in a busy mind.

Allow your eyes to close if you so choose and take a breath in and slowly out.

Breathing in and slowly out.

Taking a moment to acknowledge your body.

Relaxing,

Letting go of your toes.

Give them a squeeze and release.

The legs,

Squeeze the muscles of the legs and release.

Belly expanding and letting go.

Shoulders lifting and releasing.

Eyes open wide and close.

Breathing in and slowly out.

Breathing in and slowly out.

As you breathe in,

Mentally say peace.

As you breathe out,

Calm.

And continue to repeat peace and calm.

As you repeat these words,

You might notice your mind wandering or thoughts arising and this is completely natural.

When you become aware of those thoughts,

Acknowledge them and return to the words,

Peace and calm.

Coming back to the words,

Peace and calm.

Peace and calm.

When you're ready,

Begin to move your fingers and your toes and gently opening the eyes.
