Hello,

My name is Mark Rowland,

Welcome,

And thank you for joining me this morning.

I'm so grateful that you're here.

This is a gentle sunrise meditation designed to help you ease into your day with warmth,

Steadiness,

And hopefully a quiet sense of optimism.

You can listen to this meditation at sunrise,

In the early morning,

Or at any time you would like to reset and to begin again.

Find yourself a comfortable position,

Either seated or if you're still in bed lying down,

That's fine.

And allow your eyes to softly close or lower your gaze.

Take a second now to feel where your body is supported,

Noticing the ground beneath you,

Or the surface that's holding you.

Here,

Right at the beginning of the day,

There is nothing you need to do straight away,

Nowhere you need to rush to.

Let's pause here for a few breaths.

Bring your attention to your breath,

Not changing it at all,

Just simply noticing.

Feeling the gentle rise of your breath as you inhale,

And the soft release as you exhale.

Imagine that each breath is helping you arrive a little more fully into this moment,

Into this day,

A little more present in your body.

With every exhale,

Allow any heaviness from the night to gently soften.

There is no rush to let anything go,

Just simply allow space.

Now,

In your mind's eye,

Imagine the very beginning of a sunrise.

The sky is still quiet,

The light is a subtle one,

Nothing dramatic,

Just the first soft glow gently touching the horizon.

Picture the warmth of that light slowly spreading,

It's not bright or harsh,

The light is just kind and steady.

Imagine this sunrise light gently resting on your body,

Touching your shoulders,

Your chest,

Your hands.

It's as if the morning itself is greeting you,

Not asking anything of you,

Just offering its warmth and possibility.

With each inhale,

Imagine you are breathing in this soft,

Beautiful golden light.

With each exhale,

Welcome it to settle into your body,

Allow this sunrise warmth to move through your whole body.

Let it soften your face,

Unclench your jaw and smooth your brow.

Let it travel down through your neck and shoulders,

Easing away any tightness or apprehension.

Feeling a sense of openness,

Sense that warmth in your chest and belly,

Like a quiet reassurance,

A gentle sense that you are supported.

If there is any place in your body that feels tired or heavy this morning,

Simply let the warmth rest there a little longer.

Now,

Without forcing anything,

Allow a simple intention to form for your day ahead.

Not a goal,

Not a demand,

Just a quality you would like to carry with you today.

Perhaps ease,

Kindness,

Clarity,

Patience or simply presence.

Whatever your intention,

Have it feel light and achievable,

Something that can gently accompany you,

Rather than something you must remember or strive for.

Imagine carrying this intention with you as the day unfolds,

Like the quiet warmth of the morning sun staying within you,

Even as the day moves on and becomes busier.

Now begin to bring your awareness back once again to your breath,

Back to the gentle rhythm of inhaling and exhaling.

Noticing your body again,

The surface beneath you and the space around you.

Taking one slow,

Deep breath in and a long,

Easy breath out.

And when you're ready,

Gently open your eyes or lift up your gaze and carry this sense of warmth and quiet optimism with you into your day ahead.

You do not need to rush,

You are allowed to begin gently.

Thank you so much for practicing with me this morning.

Have a beautiful rest of your day.

Go in peace.

Namaste.
