This meditation is going to be an invitation to rise,
Just as the sun does,
To awaken to the warmth of gratitude,
To let it fill you and lift you into a new day.
As the light of dawn touches the earth,
So too can we allow light to touch our hearts,
To soften us,
To remind us of the quiet abundance that surrounds us.
Okay,
Let's take a deep breath in and let's begin.
Close your eyes,
Breathe in deeply,
Filling your lungs with the cool crisp morning air and exhale slowly,
Releasing the weight and the heaviness of the night.
Let yourself arrive here in this moment,
Feel the air against your skin,
The quiet hum of the morning.
The world is waking and so are you.
Picture the sun just below the horizon,
Its golden glow beginning to whisper across the sky.
This is the first breath of gratitude.
Gently place your hand over your heart,
Feel the steady rhythm of your life.
Feel the warmth in your chest like the first rays of sunlight touching the earth.
Whisper to yourself,
I am grateful to be here.
I am grateful for this breath and I am grateful for this new day.
As the sun rises a little higher,
So too does your gratitude.
Imagine its golden light spilling over the hills,
Over rooftops,
Across the sea,
Illuminating everything it touches.
Let your gratitude do the same.
Let it spread beyond yourself.
Think of one thing,
One person,
One moment or one gift in your life and let appreciation pour over it like a morning light.
Breathe in deeply and hold it close.
The sun does not rush,
It rises steadily,
Patiently,
Offering its light to everything without hesitation,
Without judgement.
Let yourself open up in the same way.
Let gratitude move through you,
Touching even the smallest details,
The sound of birdsong outside maybe,
The warmth of your bed,
The miracle of your beating heart.
Whisper to yourself,
There is so much to be grateful for.
I welcome this day with an open heart.
Now imagine this golden light within you growing brighter and brighter,
Radiating outward now like the sun reaching out across the sky.
See it touching the people you love,
See it wrapping around the world,
Offering warmth to those who need it most.
Silently say,
May all beings feel love,
May all beings feel peace,
May all beings know they are held in the light.
Repeat again,
May all beings feel love,
May all beings feel peace,
May all beings know they are held in the light.
The sun is fully rising now,
The light is strong and unwavering.
So too is your gratitude,
So too is your heart.
You are here,
You are alive,
You are blessed beyond measure.
Breathe deeply and say,
I am grateful for this life,
I am grateful for this moment,
I am grateful for this day and grateful for all that is and all that will be.
Slowly bring your awareness back to the room,
To your body,
To the gentle rhythm of your breath.
Wiggle your fingers,
Stretch your arms and let a soft smile spread across your face.
And when you're ready,
Open your eyes.
You are the sun,
You are the light.
Carry this gratitude with you,
Let it shine through everything you do throughout today.
You are here now and that is such a gift.
Go forward with warmth,
Go forward with light and go forward with love.
