Welcome,

Everyone.

Welcome to this 60-minute music sound meditation.

I'm Jen Hill.

This is Tony Hull and Vincent Ong.

And we're so happy to have you all here,

Here on Kaurna land,

Which of course was never ceded.

So we'd just like to begin by just paying respects to Kaurna people,

Kaurna elders,

Kaurna culture,

The history and traditions.

And in particular,

The Aboriginal tradition of deep listening.

So today we're inviting everyone into a moment to recognise the deep spiritual spring inside us all,

Which is the essence of deep listening.

Connecting to that healing presence within us all,

The silent awareness,

Sometimes referred to as the observer,

The silent witness,

That carries an innate sense of peace and calm,

A sense of wholeness and an unconditional acceptance,

Both of our entire selves and also of the moment.

There is also a sense within us when we connect to that deep,

Present,

Aware listening quality that we can sense the oneness that we have with everything.

So we invite you to take this time to give your thinking mind a well-earned rest and drop your mind down into your body to really connect to your felt senses,

This portal to your inner being,

Your awareness,

And to open to this sense of deep listening,

Listening to the music,

Allowing the music to help you stay present and also to be very closely with your own inner experience and your whole self.

Vincent and Tony will be playing for about 45 minutes,

Three different sets playing in different keys,

And there'll be some guidance to help you along the way.

There'll also be some moments of silence to help integrate as you go,

And then some guidance at the end just to gently bring you back.

So there's nothing you really need to do but just allow yourself this time just to relax and rest deeply.

Please just begin by really making sure you're sitting or lying in a comfortable position,

Just starting to tune into your posture and making any little adjustments to allow your body to relax,

Yet also remain relatively alert and just begin with a few deep relaxing breaths.

If you wish to close your eyes,

Feel free to do so.

Feel free to also keep your eyes open if you prefer.

Entirely up to you.

Inviting in a sense of ease,

A sense of comfort,

Adjusting your position,

Your posture as you need to as your body settles.

You may wish to set an intention for this time,

Perhaps an intention to give yourself this moment to relax,

To simply be and to listen deeply,

Or if you have your own reason for being here,

You might just remind yourself of that.

And then inviting your mind and all of your responsibilities and to-do lists,

Inviting them all just to take a rest for this next while.

And being curious to drop your mind down into your body and just give yourself a moment to really feel however you're feeling right now.

Perhaps you've had a busy day or a relaxing day.

Maybe there's physical feelings of tiredness or soreness or hunger.

Maybe there's some emotional feelings or mood from your day,

Some ease,

Some anxiety,

Sadness,

Disappointment,

Contentment.

Just really allowing yourself a moment to feel however you're feeling.

Allowing room for your mind to be however it is,

Whatever thoughts or images may come and go.

And you might even like to just drop your mind down into your heart area and perhaps take some gentle breaths in and out of your heart space.

Breathing as if you could breathe in and out of your heart.

Allowing these gentle breaths just to help soften and relax your chest area.

Really allowing yourself to feel into whatever physical,

Emotional feelings,

Sensations are present.

And being curious to really notice the micro physical sensations you can feel.

Starting perhaps with the sensations on the surface of your skin,

Sensations of pressure where your body is resting on the surfaces below you.

Really noticing how those feel from the inside out.

Noticing the touch of your clothing,

The weight of your clothing,

A blanket perhaps resting on your body.

Noticing the gentle flow of your breath in and out of your nostrils.

Being really curious to notice how that feels,

Those tiny sensations as your breath brushes in and out of your nostrils.

Cool air on the in-breath,

Warmer air on the out-breath as your body warms the air.

And feeling into your body,

Noticing whatever sensations are present inside your body.

Sensations of temperature or pulsing of your heart,

Tension,

Tightness.

Sensations of ease,

Relaxation,

Perhaps areas of numbness,

Areas that feel dense.

Really allowing yourself to feel into the full spectrum,

The full range of sensation from the pleasant to the unpleasant,

The neutral and the numb and everything in between.

Perhaps also feeling into the space around your body,

Your awareness effortlessly knowing the space around your body just as it knows the sensations on the surface of your skin and those feelings within your body.

And just relaxing back and allowing yourself to really receive sensations and also begin to receive the sounds.

Perhaps noticing how your inner body sensations respond to the sounds,

Beginning to really listen deeply with your whole body.

As if your whole body were a big organ that could receive and listen to sound.

And you might like to just gently begin to scan,

Survey your awareness,

Your attention down through your body.

Perhaps just focusing a little more on the micro sensations you feel starting at the top of your head.

A gentle,

Allowing attention to take in whatever sensations are present down through your head.

Taking your time to scan down through your torso,

Your legs,

All the way down to your feet.

Being really curious to notice the tiny physical micro sensations,

The tingling,

The pulsing,

Pins and needles sensation,

Prickly sensation.

Feelings of aliveness,

Flow.

Perhaps scanning back up your body from the soles of your feet all the way to the top of your head.

Really taking your time to feel directly the raw sensations.

Play of sensation.

Perhaps taking in your whole body as one.

This whole field of sensation,

Dancing,

Playing,

Flowing.

Allowing yourself to feel however you're feeling.

Sensing that presence within you that listens and receives deeply,

That allows all sensation to be just as it is.

Effortlessly receiving the sounds,

Sounds and sensations,

Playing,

Dancing in this silent,

Aware presence.

Listening with your whole body.

Changing dynamic sensory landscape within you.

Physical sensations,

Emotional feelings,

Sensations,

Rising and falling.

Gently coming back to the music any time you find you become lost in thinking.

Sinking your mind once again down into your body and into the heart of awareness.

Deep listening.

Relaxing.

Naturally allowing.

No resistance.

No judgement.

Perhaps returning to the flow of your breath.

Feeling how your body moves subtly with each breath,

In and out.

Allowing yourself to really feel whatever physical,

Emotional,

Mental activity,

Sensation,

Play,

Rises and falls.

Allowing yourself this moment to rest,

To simply be present with the aliveness within your body,

With the play of sound.

Nothing you need to be right now.

No thing you need to think about.

Just dropping your mind down into your body and the heart of awareness.

Being one with the play of sensation and sound.

Allow space for all sound,

All sensation,

Without preference,

Without resistance.

Equally open and receptive to the full spectrum of sensation and sound.

From the pleasant to the unpleasant and everything in between.

Sensing the observer within you that knows all sound,

All sensation.

That silent witnessing presence.

Allows space for everything to be just as it is.

And in that innate acceptance and peace of simply being,

Allow your mind to sink down into your body and into that unconditional accepting heart of your aware presence.

Allow yourself a few moments in silence to rest,

To integrate and to feel however you're feeling.

The play of sensation,

Emotional feelings,

The flow of your breath,

All responding to the sounds and all known by your being.

Your presence.

That silent witness within the presence of your being remains unchanged no matter what sounds or sensations are experienced.

That deep listening and openness and acceptance of whatever is heard or felt.

And perhaps inviting yourself to take that capacity for deep listening with you out into the rest of your day.

A sense of receptivity,

Feeling your body,

How it rests on the surfaces below you.

A sense of pressure and touch,

The weight of your body.

Feeling the weight of your clothing,

Any blankets resting on your body.

Feeling the space around your body,

The sounds.

And beginning to gently reawaken your body with some gentle movement or stretching.

Gradually begin to have a sense of where you are.

Returning your attention to the room that you are in,

Really taking your time to slowly readjust,

To open your eyes whenever you're ready.

And perhaps just take a moment to process your meditation before becoming fully alert again.
