Hello and welcome to The Daily Insight.
My name is David Gandelman and thank you for coming to sit with me.
As you close your eyes and relax into your space,
We're going to be focusing on love and presence.
And for me there are two sides of the same coin.
Presence is that awareness,
That consciousness that allows us to be here in this world and have experience.
And love is that awareness in action.
So as you bring your awareness deeper into your body by taking a few slow deep breaths,
You recognize the gratitude that you have for being here.
The joy of being alive.
The love that you have for your own existence.
Presence is what allows us to bring love into the world.
Presence is the river that carries love into life.
So as we sit here in meditation and bring our awareness into our bodies,
We're bringing love and acceptance into our bodies.
Notice the simplicity and the beauty of having love and presence.
And start to bring awareness into every fiber of your being.
Feel the energy in your body.
Feel the space that it takes up.
Notice the vibration of the energy inside yourself.
That energy that we call life that moves through all living things.
Part of every human being's purpose is to bring love and presence into life.
And here in meditation,
Your purpose is to bring love and presence into yourself.
Why are you less important than anything else?
Can you honor yourself,
Deepen into who you are,
And be here?
Take a nice big deep breath in and an easy calm sigh out.
So bringing love and presence into our bodies was step one.
And now we're going to bring it into a situation or a scenario in our lives where we find this space needs a little bit more love and presence.
So we're not doing anything to change this situation at the moment.
We're just bringing in more love and presence.
So as you sit here with me,
I want you to bring up a place in your life that you find may need some more attention.
And so this may be a relationship,
May have something to do with your career,
Your spirituality,
Your family,
Your creativity.
Just allow one place in your life that you really love to bring some more attention to,
To come up.
And then I'd like you to just notice your attitude towards this situation,
Towards this energy.
Is it adversarial?
Is there tension?
Is there a lack of forgiveness?
Is there some sort of pain?
And despite whatever energy you notice,
Can you allow yourself to bring more love and presence?
Can you just be with this energy and give it space?
Just give it space to be as it is.
To bring love into a situation is to come with the attitude of acceptance.
And then perhaps with that acceptance,
Something shifts.
And notice as you sit with this scenario,
Perhaps you get an answer or two.
Maybe you awaken to a deeper understanding of this situation.
But you do it without resistance,
You do it with love,
Acceptance and presence.
Go ahead and take a nice big deep breath in.
Nice sigh out.
