Hello and welcome to The Daily Insight.
My name is David Gandelman and thank you for coming to sit with me for this meditation on finding your answers.
Go ahead and grab a seat,
Close your eyes and get nice and comfortable,
Whatever that means to you.
And let's start to go inwards and awaken that place inside of us that truly holds our deepest answers.
So relax those shoulders,
Take a few nice deep breaths in and out,
And start to just collect your energy up,
Your attention from anywhere else it's been today.
And allow it to almost to land in and settle into your body.
And you can bring your awareness right behind your eyes,
Right into the center of your head.
And I'd like to start with a quote from one of my favorite philosophers,
Emerson,
And he says,
In every work of genius,
We recognize our own rejected thoughts.
They come back to us with a certain alienated majesty.
It's like we look out at the world and we see others' creativity or enlightenment and we realize,
Oh,
I had that in me.
But often we get so invalidated that we don't realize our own thoughts,
Intuition,
And our own thoughts.
And we realize our own thoughts,
Intuition,
And energy has value.
So as you start to deepen into this moment with me in this meditation,
We're going to explore that value inside of you.
As you sit here,
Can you allow yourself to notice if there's anywhere in you where you've been holding on to an energy of invalidation,
A sense that on some level you're just not quite there.
And if you find any tension in your body in relation to that thought,
Can you just breathe in and out of that thought?
And if you find any tension in your body in relation to that thought,
Can you just breathe into that place and start to relax it and release?
Just be gentle with yourself.
Notice that some of the invalidation,
Confusion,
Or resistance you feel may take the form of an emotion or mental noise.
Allow the choppy waters of emotion to start to settle.
Let the noise in your head that's caused by this energy to start to quiet.
We all have thousands of thoughts every day,
And our answers might be like a needle in a haystack,
Somewhere hidden underneath all of the noise.
And one of the keys to releasing noise,
To releasing invalidation,
Is relaxing.
You can ease up in your jaw,
Loosen your shoulders,
Soften your breathing,
And let the energy flow into your body.
And just be gentle with yourself.
The attitude with which you treat yourself may end up being the most important answer that you find in meditation.
It is so easy for us to just absorb the mental energy of the world that's often just full of negativity that subtly programs us to believe that we're not good enough in some way.
And that invalidation,
That criticism,
It covers up our answers.
It places a veil over the truth.
You might notice that energy almost melt off of you.
Or you might see it like a color come off of you.
Michelangelo the great artist said when he carved the David,
The statue,
He just moved all the pieces that weren't him.
And as we meditate,
We release those energies.
Our truth and our answers get uncovered naturally.
So create a space for your answers to just almost flower.
And the deepest truth is that you are the answer.
It's not an idea or a belief,
It's you,
It's your energy and that expression of that energy into the world.
Take a nice big deep breath in,
Nice soft exhale.
And I hope that you go into your day today with that awareness and share your beautiful energy with the world and recognize that you are the answer.
Thank you so much for sitting with me today.
Wish you the best.
