Good day and welcome.
My name is Kathy and I'm glad that you could join me.
Not feeling good enough?
What does that mean?
That somehow you're lacking in some way.
That you don't measure up to expectations,
Whether it's your own or other people's.
You can doubt your abilities,
Your worth,
Your value.
And feel like no matter what you do,
It's never enough.
It's been a constant strand in my life at times.
That nagging feeling that you just haven't got what it takes,
Whatever that means.
Sometimes it shows up quietly in the way we live,
Think and treat ourselves.
It can show up as perfectionism,
My personal favourite.
Always trying to do everything right.
Terrified of making mistakes.
Because deep down,
You feel that failure will prove you're not enough.
Let me tell you from experience,
It's hugely exhausting.
It can show up as people-pleasing,
Saying yes when you want to say no.
Hiding how you really feel,
Or changing yourself to make other people happy so you will be accepted.
There is also comparing yourself to others,
Measuring your worth against someone else's success or achievements.
It can make you feel afraid.
Fearful of trying new things.
A fear of being seen.
A fear of speaking up.
Because you've convinced yourself that you'll never be good enough to succeed,
Or to belong.
It can even show up as self-sabotage,
By procrastinating and giving up too early.
Not going after what you really want,
Because deep down,
You've already decided you'll fail.
But here's the truth.
These feelings don't mean you're broken or weak.
They mean you're human and that you care.
The key is to notice when these patterns appear,
And to gently remind yourself that your worth isn't something you have to earn or prove.
It's already there,
And always has been.
So the next time that voice tells you you're not good enough,
Take a deep breath and remember this.
You are learning.
You are growing.
And you are already enough.
Exactly as you are.
