Today's guided meditation will be a little different,
As I'd like to ask you to be open to cultivating any form of forgiveness.
Since May is a time for a mental health awareness month,
I thought it would be great to do a short meditation on just cultivating a little bit of forgiveness in our life.
Take a moment to visualize a person in your life who you feel has hurt you.
This could be a family member,
A coworker,
Or a stranger.
Recall the situation,
Moment,
Or event that occurred.
It could mean Take a few seconds to identify the emotions that come to the surface,
Such as anger,
Sadness,
Rage.
See if you can tap into where you are feeling these emotions within the body.
Is it your hands,
Your belly,
Jaw,
Collarbones?
Okay.
Observe the thoughts that are going around in your mind regarding this person.
And observe the nature of the thoughts.
Are they full of hate,
Spite?
Allow yourself to realize and feel whatever is inside that is holding onto these parts,
Which still perhaps hurt a little bit.
And ask yourself in this moment,
Who is suffering?
Okay.
Okay.
Ask yourself,
Am I willing to forgive?
If not,
Perhaps this is not the time and you are not in a space to forgive.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
As you continue to breathe in,
Acknowledge the hurt and the pain.
And as you exhale,
Forgive and release this burden from your heart and your mind.
Okay.
Okay.
Inhale deeply.
Gently wiggle your fingers and your toes,
Bringing the energy and the awareness back to your body.
You can always interlock your fingers above your head.
Give yourself a lovely stretch.
And then take a few seconds to rub your palms together,
Making them nice and warm.
And then just cup them over your eyes.
Don't press down.
Take a few seconds to thank your body.
Namaste.
