Notice the weight beneath you,
The points of contact,
The back of your body,
The back of your head,
Back of the neck,
Shoulder blades,
Lower back,
Notice the hips,
The backs of the thighs,
The calf muscles,
The heels of the feet,
Lying down preparing for a night's rest,
Allowing the physical body to stay in stillness.
See if you can release any tension you may be holding onto,
Letting go of the day's work,
Whatever happened today,
Allow yourself to gently place that aside,
Allow yourself to ease and rest,
Allowing the physical body to settle down,
Allowing the heart rate and the breathing to gently slow,
Now gently bring the awareness to your breath,
Inhaling through the nose and exhaling through the nose,
Inhaling fully and exhaling fully,
As the breath flows,
Notice how it feels in the body,
Any sensations,
Any tension,
Any places of relaxation,
Allow the thoughts in the mind to calm,
It's normal to have a million thoughts at this time,
Just notice without judgment,
Without attachment,
Without gripping or holding onto anything,
Allowing the thoughts to gently fade,
Allowing the thoughts to have less control over us,
Allowing yourself the permission to rest without guilt,
Understanding that rest is so important for nourishment,
For feeling and doing our best,
For recharging ourselves,
Our minds,
Our bodies,
So that we can show up and do our best,
From a state that is well rested,
Take a deep inhale in and a full exhale out,
Allow the temples to soften,
The eyebrows to relax,
The jaw to unclench and the shoulders to ease,
Take another deep inhale in and a nice long exhale out,
I wish you a good night ahead and I will leave you here for today.
