Hello,
My name is Jacqueline and thank you for choosing my meditation.
We all know sleep is necessary and rejuvenating,
So why do so many people suffer to achieve restful sleep?
One of the reasons is because they do not take charge of their busy mind during the day,
Moving it from worry to relaxation.
A calmer state of mind allows for you to not only sleep better,
But eliminates anxiety,
Reduces focus,
Helps depression,
Stops circular thinking,
Improves memory,
Betters relationships,
Satisfies the body and increases emotional intelligence.
All a noisy mind is good at is distracting you.
It doesn't achieve anything,
It doesn't build on any new ideas,
It doesn't emotionally connect with others around you,
It acts to disconnect you from others and from yourself.
By being aware of your mind throughout your day,
You can begin to eliminate negative thoughts as they happen.
By removing your attention from the past or the future,
You will be able to focus completely upon the present time,
Which will allow for rest and sleep at the end of your day.
So let's bring your mind into the present moment with some positive affirmations.
So before we get started,
Let's prepare,
Ready to accept the affirmations.
Get into a comfortable position,
Either sitting or lying down.
And now gently close your eyes.
Take a long slow deep breath in.
Hold.
And now slowly release.
And another long slow deep breath in.
Hold.
And slowly release.
One more time.
Take a deep breath in.
Hold.
And release.
Now breathe normally as you sense your body relaxing.
Relax your shoulders.
Relax your arms and hands.
Relax your whole body.
Now we will begin.
Repeat each affirmation in your mind after me.
Thoughts are only thoughts.
I live in the present,
Not in the past or in the future.
I draw from my past when I need to plan for my future,
But I always live in the present moment.
I take notice of my body often throughout the day,
Easing and relaxing my body by doing so.
I take notice of my surroundings to ease my mind.
When thoughts begin to swirl in my mind,
I acknowledge them,
Knowing they are simply thoughts.
My thoughts come and go.
Stopping my thoughts is impossible.
Instead I observe them arriving and leaving.
Instead of jumping into thoughts emotionally,
I observe which thoughts I want to cultivate more of.
I know that the thoughts I put my energy to is what I create for myself.
By taking time to practice these methods I really feel a difference.
I have the patience to retrain my mind.
I retrain my mind so that I can get rest when I need it.
I have patience when training my mind.
I am kind to myself with this new way of being.
I am kind to others and I never allow overthinking in the form of judgement to cloud my relationships.
I am persistent because I know the rewards are well worth the effort.
I see benefits right from the very start of my practice.
My body is relaxed.
My mind is focused.
Now we have come to the end of this meditation.
So take a deep breath in and breathe out.
Wiggle your fingers and toes and take another deep breath in and breathe it all out.
And when you are ready,
Open your eyes.
Thank you for listening.
Share in the comments how you felt during and after this meditation.
Thank you.
