While relaxing watching the television one evening,
Not really paying much attention to the actual programme,
I found my eyes wandering to the footwear the ladies were wearing.
They were all in lovely high heels and one in particular was wearing a beautiful pair of stiletto heels,
Something which I loved to wear.
This got me thinking about a gorgeous pair of shoes I have,
A pair which I wore once as I was saving them for special occasions.
They still look brand new and they will stay that way because I can't wear high heels anymore.
My name is Jacqueline and I have bad hips which is why I can't wear high heels.
As I pictured my gorgeous pair of shoes neatly wrapped in tissue paper and safely tucked into their shoebox,
I began thinking about the things we put off in life.
Such as wearing clothes or shoes because we want to save them for best.
Or going for a promotion because we don't think we're good enough yet.
Or asking someone out because we don't think they will say yes.
Or starting a new project because we don't feel ready yet and the list goes on.
Most of the time when we put things off,
For whatever reason,
We never ever do them.
Why,
I asked myself.
Because life passes by so much quicker than we think it will and before we know it,
We either can't fit into our saved for best clothes and shoes or we still don't believe in ourselves and give up trying anything or we just get too old.
So the next time you buy a pair of shoes or new clothes,
Wear them.
When you get a good idea,
Act on it immediately.
When you want to do something,
Find a way to do it now.
Life is a beautiful journey that is meant to be embraced to the fullest every day.
Stop putting things off until tomorrow.
Stop saving things for tomorrow.
Stop putting your life on hold until tomorrow.
Life is for living today and the purpose of our lives is to be happy.
We only live once,
But if we do it right,
Once is enough.
So,
Sing like no one's listening.
Love like you've never been hurt.
Dance like nobody's watching and live like it's heaven on earth.
Grab life with both hands and go do it today.
Thanks for listening.
Before I go,
I'd like to ask you a question.
What if you put off until tomorrow?
