Just imagine a computer that could upgrade itself every day.

Imagine if it needed a new software program with new capabilities and functionality,

That it could just install what it needed,

Anytime.

If the computer needed a patch or some repair,

It could check itself in for a bit of TLC.

If there were any gems of wisdom,

Or something edutaining or entertaining on its hard drive,

It would know when to upload them.

Conversely,

If it needed to know anything,

This smarter-than-smart computer would know how to find it and download it.

In case you hadn't guessed it,

This sort of computer is us.

And the key to keeping our computer in optimum working order lies in how we shut it down each night and how we reboot it in the morning.

To do this,

We have to tune in to two very special times of the day.

The hypnagogic point,

Which is between waking and sleeping,

And the hypnopompic point,

Which is between being asleep and being awake.

Hypnagogic comes from the Greek,

Hypnos meaning sleep,

And agogos meaning leading or inducing.

And hypnopompia also comes from the Greek,

Where pomp means sending away.

These etymologies give us the clues how to use these special times.

So breathe in,

And breathe down.

So here's how to shut down and reboot the computer,

Which is us.

As you go to sleep,

From all over the day you've just had,

Think about what perhaps didn't go so well.

If someone did some wrong to you,

Forgive them.

If you underperformed or did something not so good,

Forgive yourself.

Put it down to experience and let it go.

Tomorrow you can pick yourself up and move onwards and upwards.

Then remember all the high points,

And what was so good about the day just gone.

And as you drift off into sleep,

Just muse on what would make the day ahead go much better.

The next day,

As you wake up,

Treat yourself a little.

Luxuriate a little longer in the hypnopompic zone.

You will find your dreams come back to you better by doing this.

Then remember what you were thinking about the day ahead as you fell asleep last night.

Then crank it up a little.

What would make the day go even more awesomer?

When you've exhausted all the great things that could happen,

Bring the thoughts of them down to your heart and beam them out into the world in a big vortex.

Then stretch and become fully awake and alive to your potency.

Loved this! The part I have been missing is beaming the ideas out into the world after coming up with them, so I’ll start incorporating that into my practice from now on. As always, thank you TΓΆm πŸ’«β€οΈ

Exactly what my sluggish brain & rattled nervous system & unexpected cramping, achy thumb, and very dry eyes, sinuses needed. A reboot. Thank you.
