Alright,
Alright,
Alright,
Welcome to the Matthew McConaughey led meditation led by the old bull Cyrus,
Okay?
He's standing in the middle of the street when you're just trying to get through with your Lincoln.
But that's besides the point.
This is the experience of being Matthew McConaughey,
Alright?
I can't tell you what it is.
I can only show you.
So unclap your back jack chair,
Hop down on your bean bag,
Whatever your seating arrangement of choice is for you,
And just settle in,
Brother or sister.
Just take your time.
There's no rush,
But we're beginning with or without you.
So here we go.
Close your eyes and start to go into that other space.
You've been there before.
God knows that the first thing you've done in your meditation career would not be a Matthew McConaughey themed track.
So you know what I'm talking about.
Start to go into that other place.
You're going,
I'm pointing.
We're going together.
All right,
So I'll grab my Oscar and you grab your flip flops or whatever it is that you value most highly.
Okay.
Just take a soothing deep breath in through the nose,
Not through the mouth.
And now we're going to do one breath hold together.
All right.
Just like we're scuba diving with no mask.
So we're going to go in through the nose.
Hold that breath and feel your body like you just saw a sea turtle.
That's so beautiful.
You can believe it.
So you're just holding your breath in awe of the beauty that you're witnessing.
And now release that breath.
Let go,
Let go of all your attention.
Let your body relax.
Now we're going to set this meditation at my favorite place.
Yeah,
You guessed it.
We're going to the beach.
Now start to imagine and feel the salt air in your nostrils.
What does that smell like?
Start to feel the sand under your toes,
The warmth.
Start to listen and hear the sounds of the waves cascading like an inner,
All right,
All right.
And now that you're fully immersed on the beach,
Start to notice how you feel.
How do you feel?
Now remember,
You don't win Oscars by fighting your emotions.
So feel and remember,
Whatever you resist persists.
Whatever you calamitize is what you prioritize.
So really feel what's going on.
Now imagine a wave coming in and just sweeping away that feeling like water off a duck's back,
Just taking that feeling away from you.
Now start to be aware of the story your mind is telling you.
You know,
We all have our stories.
I almost went to law school and then I ended up dropping out and became the Lincoln lawyer,
You know.
Nobody saw it until it came out on Netflix and then all of a sudden I was in ads for Lincoln,
Came full circle.
But it's not about me,
It's about you.
So start to ask yourself,
What is the story that my mind is telling me?
And all you have to do is observe it.
You don't have to do anything about it.
Just be aware of that story.
Now start to let go,
Let go and let God of that story.
Start to feel what it feels like when you just release the icy grip of that story and melt into the warmth of the beach.
Maybe start to experience what it's like to be someone else or something else.
And now that you've let go of some of those emotions and some of those stories,
You've cleared some space.
And now you're ready to go to space.
All right,
You're ready to be an interstellar being.
So start to connect to your body.
Let's start off at the face.
Just let those facial muscles relax.
Just let them relax.
Let your tongue drop,
Let your jaw relax.
Let all your facial muscles become soft and supple.
You can,
Quite frankly,
Start to look a little bit unintelligent,
But that's okay.
We're not here for vanity.
We're not here to look good.
We're here to transcend.
And now start to let your neck and shoulders become soft and loosey-goosey.
Try to keep them still and just let them chill.
And now feel your arms and hands always doing stuff.
Why are they always doing stuff?
Just let them do nothing for once in your life.
Just let your arms and hands not be robot arms,
Automatons,
Just moving through space performing tasks.
Let them relax and do nothing.
And now go to your heart and see what you feel in that deep place of your heart.
Is there love?
Is there hatred?
Let it all melt into love and start to feel the tension and the self-protection that you hold in your heart start to melt.
Start to feel it melting like the Care Bear countdown just beaming out into the world.
Feel your stomach softening?
Feel your pelvic floor dropping into your beanbag or into the sandy beach that you're sitting on.
And now feel your legs and feet.
They've been carrying you around just wondering,
When are we going to get a break?
And just give them what they've been asking for,
That little coffee break.
Feel your legs and your feet unclenching.
Feel how your feet are really just hands that are on the end of your legs and let those feet hands release.
And now start to pay attention to your back.
Now you can see that you've been carrying the weight of your world on your back.
Then feel your back and your spine starting to relax and open kind of like a crocodile that lives in South Carolina but it's got a timeshare down in Florida.
Just feel its real estate opening,
Lengthening as you breathe.
Now take a moment to feel your whole body relaxed from head to toe totally in the McConaughey vibe.
Now from this deeper place,
Ask yourself the most important question in the entire universe.
What is my favorite Matthew McConaughey movie?
No,
I'm just kidding.
All right.
Ask yourself,
What is my purpose,
My unique gift,
My reason for being here on this earth?
Now don't search high,
Don't search low,
Don't search in the middle.
Just be a container and wait for the answer to be dropped inside.
And maybe the answer came,
Maybe it didn't,
But now either way you've planted a seed and that seed will sprout into a giant redwood one day.
But we're not in a forest,
We're on the beach.
So let's go back.
Let's do a little visualization.
This is what I like to call visualizing that you are Matthew McConaughey running shirtless down the beach.
And by the end of the visualization,
You will understand why it's an activity that's done with such frequency and enthusiasm.
So begin to imagine yourself running,
The breeze flowing effortlessly through your perfect bleach blonde locks,
See and feel yourself smiling as you high five the paparazzi.
They're your friends.
Some of these guys are your surfing buddies.
They're your dinner partners.
Seeing yourself blowing kisses to your adoring fans,
Whether they're holdovers from your rom-com days or fans of your more distinguished later career work,
Or maybe even somewhere in the middle,
Just your Magic Mike fans,
Kind of the best of both worlds.
And finally see yourself hitting the stray bongos that are waiting for you conveniently unmanned at the finish line.
Just seeing yourself hitting those bongos,
Having a grand old time,
Just feeling the rhythm and see yourself letting the bongos come back and play you.
And now that you're at the finish line,
You might notice that there is no finishing the line.
There is no finish line in life.
It just keeps going and going and going and you're going with it one foot in front of the other.
So take a moment to keep running in your mind.
Keep feeling that totally carefree vibe,
The inner McConaughey,
One foot in front of the other.
So really commit to that,
Just that one step in front of you for the rest of the day.
And when you lose sight of that,
Just give yourself the green light and say,
All right,
All right,
Back to that one step in front of me.
That's all I got to worry about.
Now remember to come back to this track anytime you need some McConaughey in your life.
Feel free to like,
Comment,
Subscribe,
Any of the normal things that one does upon encountering a track such as this.
And most importantly,
Remember to bring some of the spirit of Matthew McConaughey back with you into your day.
But don't worry about McConaughey.
McConaughey is sitting on millions,
He's got an Oscar,
He'll be fine.
Just worry about yourself.
You are your own hero.
Believe it,
Remember it,
Achieve it,
Conceive it,
Dream it.
You got this.
I believe in you.
Now go out there and find the pile of gold that's sitting underneath your floorboards,
Because all of us have a pile of gold sitting under the floorboards of our psyche.
We just got to flip that hatch up.
Look underneath.
The kingdom of heaven is inside of you.
Jesus said it,
Muhammad said it,
Muhammad Ali said it,
Obama said it,
The Dalai Lama said it,
Everybody said it in different words,
Or at least they thought it if they didn't say it or they read it at some point.
So remember,
You don't need a key,
You are the key.
You have always been the key.
You don't need to look to McConaughey,
You are your inner McConaughey already.
So get out there,
Carpe that diem.
I'm rooting for you.
