Hey,
It's Cyrus.
If you ever feel envy or competitiveness or wanting to be the best in a way that makes you better than other people,
I invite you to notice in your body right now how it feels instinctively when you think those kinds of thoughts or indulge those kinds of desires.
Don't overthink it,
Just notice your instinctive feeling.
And perhaps you might notice an energy or a desire,
But you might also notice feelings of tension or edginess,
A sort of subtle negativity that's the other side of that coin of tapping into that particular fuel source for what you do.
So we're going to do a simple exercise that will show you how to tap into a different fuel source,
Create all the energy and positive outcomes that those competitive feelings are trying to give you,
But with none of the downside.
So I invite you to close your eyes,
Take a deep breath in through your nose and fill up your body with oxygen and slowly exhale out through the mouth,
Relaxing your muscles as you do.
And on your mental movie screen now,
I invite you to envision a time where you felt loved,
Totally loved by the people around you and you were loving to the people around you at the same time.
If you haven't had an experience like this,
Just imagine what it would be like.
And as you envision that really soak in those feelings,
Feel the positive flow in through your heart area of all that connection,
That receiving of that love,
That giving of that love as if you're an overflowing source of love,
Getting stronger with each breath as if your heart could burst from joy.
And as you allow those feelings to reverberate through your energy field and surround your body and move like a wave as you breathe with them,
Just check in with what those competitive and envious thoughts look like from this perspective,
From this energy.
And it might start to become obvious that those feelings and thoughts are coming from a place of insecurity,
Negativity and lack.
Without judgment,
Just notice how these feelings sometimes arise from a lack of total and complete love.
From a place where we simply aren't feeling that love fully flowing through our hearts.
And you might even notice how those thoughts of envy or hyper-competitiveness look slightly silly from this perspective of overflowing love.
And perhaps you can just laugh at them from a place of acceptance and see the humor in that.
And really take a moment to saturate deeper in that flow of love within your heart.
And begin to see an alternate possibility that could give you that edge and create positive outcomes for you without the downside and the negative energy.
One where perhaps you're competing with yourself,
Your former self,
To be the best version of yourself.
So you can inspire others to want to be the best version of themselves.
So that you can all win from a place of love and abundance.
Simply visualize yourself operating from this paradigm or something like it that resonates with you and notice how it feels in your body as you see it.
And just set the intention to choose a new paradigm going forward when you notice those old feelings coming up.
You might struggle to logically convince yourself to make that shift in the face of those old feelings,
But you can just take a deliberate moment to tap into those feelings of overflowing lovingness.
And the perspective shift you want to make will flow naturally from there as hopefully you've seen through this exercise.
So take a moment to set the intention to make that shift going forward when that comes up if you think it would serve you.
