Welcome to the Daily Insight.
My name is Fleur Chambers.
I am delighted to be here with you this morning to support you in starting your day with mindful awareness,
Focus and motivation.
Beginning your day in this way can have a profound impact on your attitude,
Perspective and the way in which you interact with the world around you.
By allowing yourself this gift of mindful presence,
You are cultivating a sense of expanded awareness and possibility.
So let's begin now by settling into a comfortable position.
This could be seated or lying down,
Whatever feels good for you this morning.
Closing down your eyes if you like,
Letting the landscape of your awareness turn inward to the melody and rhythm of your inner world.
Can you begin by offering yourself a gentle smile of appreciation for making meditation a priority this morning?
Breathing into this sense of smile for a moment or two,
Allowing it to soften and spread across your body.
And as you continue to breathe,
Allowing this sense of smile to create a softening across your eyes,
Across your jaw,
Across your shoulders.
This sense of smile softening your stomach,
Inviting your legs and arms to soften also.
Resting here for a moment or two,
Allowing this softening to seep further into your body.
Drawing your awareness now to your breath,
This gentle life force that exists within each of us.
No need to change your breath,
Just remaining curious and open.
Noticing the air as it enters your nose,
Noticing the air as it leaves your mouth,
Noticing the gentle rise and fall of your chest,
Noticing the soft expanse of your belly as the air flows in and out.
Coming home to your breath,
Its gentle rhythm and flow.
Now can you move your awareness to your exhale and if you are able,
Can you lengthen your exhale so it feels long and smooth.
Perhaps you can even hear the air as it slowly leaves your mouth.
As you breathe in this way,
Can you notice a sense of relaxation washing over you.
Perhaps you can notice a softening across your eyes,
Across your jaw,
Across your shoulders.
And with each exhale,
Can this sense of relaxation,
Of surrender,
Of letting go,
Sink a little deeper into your body,
Mind and heart.
And so with a warm heart I ask you,
Is there something you may wish to let go of here in this safe space you have created,
Something that may prevent you from embracing the potential of this new day.
Perhaps there is a past hurt or disagreement lingering,
Maybe there is a self-critical thought,
A limiting belief or worry that you may like to let go of today.
As you continue to focus on your exhale,
Can you imagine that whatever is holding you back is leaving your mind,
Body and heart.
As you exhale you are letting go of whatever stands in the way of the unbridled potential of today.
From within this act of letting go,
You have created an opening,
A sense of space and possibility.
I wonder,
What would you like to invite into this space this morning?
What would you like to cultivate more of?
What inner strength would you like to grow?
Would you like to invite in more calm,
More compassion,
More patience?
Perhaps you would like to welcome more self-acceptance,
Forgiveness,
Confidence or creativity?
Or is it more fun and joy that you desire today?
Focusing now on your inhale and as you inhale,
Noticing the way your chest expands at the front,
The back and the sides.
And can this sense of physical expansion also encourage a sense of expanded awareness,
A sense of possibility and of hope?
And as you inhale,
Imagining you are breathing in the very essence of this part of you that you wish to grow.
Breathing this part of you awake,
Alive and vibrant.
With each breath,
This part of you is growing stronger.
Imagining yourself moving through your day with this quality you have just invited in.
What does your day look and feel like?
Taking a nice deep breath into this image of today,
Letting it sink into your mind,
Body and heart.
Let's finish this meditation just as we began with a smile of appreciation for this moment to pause and connect with yourself before the busyness takes hold.
A moment to hear the whispers of your heart,
The echo of your soul.
And when you are ready,
Opening your eyes to this amazing day filled with possibility.
