No trial has tested tongue drum or handpan meditation directly at a beginner dose. A short 10–20 minute session is a conservative editorial starting point; the twice-weekly frequency is extrapolated from a related group percussion-music intervention that ran 30-minute sessions twice weekly.

What is not yet supported is any large randomized trial of these instruments as a stand-alone practice, evidence of long-term benefit, or a claim that they treat a diagnosed condition.
