The practice has almost no structure to hold onto, and that spareness is its defining feature. There are no objects to concentrate on, no breath to follow, and no technique to maintain. Dissociation or detachment
The felt letting-go of a separate self is not dissociation. Healthy resting stays open, clear, and present, whereas dissociative detachment feels numbing, unreal, or distressing. Persistent unreality or panic is a cue to pause and seek support, not to press on.
Relaxation or rest before sleep
