Welcome to meditation on wisdom in awareness.

If you are sitting,

Make sure that your back is straight,

Allowing free flow of your breathing.

Breathe in a way so you can enjoy in-breath and out-breath,

Because that's where we start.

We're connecting with awareness through the simplest of activities,

Which is our breath.

Allow your eyes to close and notice how your awareness is drawn within.

When you are no longer distracted by the external vision of reality,

Your awareness focuses on the inner experience,

Which in a sense is richer than any reality that your five senses can offer.

It may happen that in the absence of stimuli,

Your mind chooses to give a commentary to what is happening.

Your mind may show dissatisfaction with that absence of stimulation.

This is because we are so used to a constant stream of information coming your mind's way.

However,

This is only temporary,

And if you allow your mind to quote-unquote freak out for a moment,

It will very soon adjust to this new state of being that is outside of the habitual doing state.

That's where we start our quest for wisdom.

In the absence of information,

In the absence of content,

What there is left?

In the stillness of the present moment,

Behind your closed eyelids,

There is spaciousness that unveils stillness all around the direct experience of here and now.

Where is the source of that stillness?

Who is experiencing the expansion that happens behind your closed eyes?

As we connect our awareness with the direct experience,

We suddenly find ourselves at ease.

And in this ease,

Your mind presses questions that seem like a ripple on the lake,

And if you allow those ripples to carry on,

They eventually disappear,

Restoring the stillness and peace,

And a good life that we all are seeking,

Peace,

Belonging,

Freedom from overthinking.

And we all together can join this path that leads within,

And even though an occasional thought will disturb the landscape,

Recognize that this is a temporary change,

And thoughts and feelings that come from your mind,

That come from your thinking mind,

Are not here to stay,

But they are temporary passengers that occupy your awareness for a moment and then will naturally dissipate,

Leaving you back with the openness,

Stillness,

And spaciousness of this very moment.

So allow yourself to sit back and observe,

Experience the awareness itself,

Awareness that is fundamental and primal to your experience,

Your awareness is the agent that experiences it all,

Unlike your mind,

Without judgment,

Without craving,

Without aversion,

On the fundamental level you are already fulfilled,

You have already arrived,

And right now I will allow you to explore on your own,

As I hold the space by your side,

Always ready,

Always here,

Now it is time to shift your awareness and reconnect with your physical senses,

Now that you are familiar with awareness itself,

You can intentionally use it to connect with your vision,

With a sense of sight,

Even through your closed eyelids,

Your awareness can perceive,

Now shift to your hearing,

The sound of my voice,

The sound of music,

Any other external sounds that your awareness connects through this physical sense,

And now sense of smell,

You may find drawn towards your nostrils that your brain associates with the sense of smell,

Now sense of taste,

And again you may find focus on your tongue,

Even though you can't taste anything,

The awareness often goes there to search for something to focus on,

And now shift to the sense of touch,

And reconnect with the boundaries of your physical body that your mind associate with the physical self,

Experience how the boundaries of your body connect you with the space around you,

Feel your feet on the floor,

Your hands in your lap,

Your sit bones,

Perhaps your lower back,

All the points of contact,

Now before we conclude,

Intentionally think about how you feel,

What is the description that your mind gives to this current state,

And you may use that description as a benchmark,

A point to which you can return at any given moment,

And now take one deep breath in through your nose,

And now through your mouth,

And in your own time,

Open your eyes,

And welcome back
