In this meditation take some time to check in with yourself.
Today someone likely asked,
How are you doing?
You may have given an auto response of I'm good or I'm well.
Not taking time to honestly evaluate how you are.
Now is your time.
Take a deep breath.
As you exhale close your eyes.
Repeat,
How am I right now?
Not how were you yesterday or this morning,
Not last year,
And don't even anticipate how you'll feel later tonight,
But right now.
How am I?
Take a moment and don't forget to breathe.
Consider your physical state and how your body feels.
Consider your mental state and where your thoughts are trying to take you.
Consider your emotional state and your feelings.
As you continue thinking about how you are doing,
Allow your body to melt.
Relax each of your muscles.
The thoughts,
Don't interrupt them,
Don't engage,
But let them fade away.
What does your heart remind you of right now?
Are you full of joy,
Sadness,
Anger,
Confusion?
Breathe in and out.
Consider yourself.
Once again ask yourself,
How am I?
Can you give a thoughtful response?
Whisper out loud your reply.
As this meditation comes to an end,
Don't forget to check in with yourself throughout the day.
Even if you aren't ready to give anyone else a thoughtful response,
Be honest with yourself.
