As winter’s rest gives way to spring’s gentle embrace, this poem captures the essence of renewal, rejuvenation, and the quiet awakening of life. Spring is not a beginning—it is a return. A shift. A reminder that what rests will rise again, effortlessly, in its perfect time. This poem speaks to the soul’s journey through stillness and motion, darkness and light, and the eternal rhythm that guides us all. Spring awakens.

The quiet rest of winter fades.

Soft light spills through misty glades.

No rush,

No strain,

No need to fight.

Life unfolds in perfect light.

The earth stirs deep beneath the ground.

A breath,

A pulse,

A sacred sound.

Not something lost nor something new,

But all that was now breaking through.

The bud does not demand to grow,

Nor ask the sun to melt the snow.

It waits,

It trusts,

It simply knows.

The time to bloom is when it shows.

The gentle hands of warmer air brush the fields,

Dissolve despair.

The sun returns,

Yet never went,

Its golden touch a love unspent.

The winds arise,

The rivers swell,

The song of life begins to tell.

That nothing sleeps,

And nothing wakes.

The dance just turns,

The silence breaks.

So here we stand,

Yet never stood.

Renewed in all we've understood.

No end,

No start,

No path undone.

Only the rise of light and sun.

Ms. Aurand, that was perfect. Lovely poem and just right for the moment has winter turns to spring… a moment long awaited it by all in Vermont, where I live. It’s cold up here in winters long but when spring comes, it is just beyond words, with the being / non-being reflected in your poem. 💐 I write poetry too, if you feel like hearing any of it, it’s read on Insight Timer by teacher Yvonne Hostetter. Thank you so much. M
