You can be grateful for your life and still want something different.
Those two things can exist at the same time.
And yet a lot of women feel guilty when they want change without having a dramatic reason for wanting it.
I'm Skyler Liberty-Rose and I help women in midlife navigate transitions.
Maybe nothing is terribly wrong in your life.
You may have people you love,
A home,
A career.
A life you worked hard to build.
You may look at everything you've created and think,
I should be happy.
So when something inside you starts asking for something different,
It can be tempting to push it away.
To tell yourself you're being ungrateful.
That other people have it worse.
That you should appreciate where you are and what you have.
Your gratitude can be real and true.
But gratitude doesn't require us to stay exactly where we are.
You can appreciate what a particular chapter of life has given you and still recognize that you're ready for a different chapter.
You can love someone and still need something to change in the relationship.
You can be proud of your career and still wonder whether you want to spend the next 10 years doing the same thing.
You can love your family and still want space for yourself.
You can be grateful for the life you've built and still ask whether it reflects who you are now.
That isn't selfish,
It isn't failure,
And it doesn't mean everything you've done up until this point was wrong.
It means you're allowed to change.
Sometimes the hardest part is giving ourselves permission to acknowledge the truth before we know what we're going to do about it.
You don't have to blow up your life.
You don't have to make a dramatic decision.
You can simply begin by noticing and being honest with yourself.
Something has changed.
Something no longer fits.
Something in me wants something more.
And you can let that be information.
You can be grateful for where you've been.
You can honor what that life has meant to you,
And you can still ask,
What do I want now?
Your life doesn't have to remain organised around an older version of you.
Simply because that was the version that built what you have now.
You are allowed to meet yourself in this moment.
