Take a moment now to make sure you're sitting comfortably on the floor or in a chair with a straight spine.
Close your eyes.
Take a deep breath.
Begin to feel how your bones and muscles hold your body in place.
They work together to hold your body up straight.
Now in your imagination,
Go inside your muscles and your bones.
Deep inside all the parts that make up your body,
There's something that keeps you alive.
In yoga,
It's called prana,
Which means life energy.
It is invisible to our eyes because it is vibrating so fast we cannot see it.
But we can feel it when we get quiet and focused inside.
Have you ever thought about yourself as being made up of energy?
You might already know that your body is made up of cells.
Each tiny cell is made up of even smaller whirling bits of energy that are just the same as the giant whirling constellations that make up our universe.
Pretty amazing,
Isn't it?
You probably know that astronomers use high-powered telescopes to gather information about the universe we live in.
In our meditation today,
We will use our own sort of high-powered telescope,
Called our inner awareness,
To discover the tiniest bits of energy that we are made of.
So using our imagination now,
We are going on a space adventure,
Only it's the space that's inside of us.
If you're ready,
We can start the inner journey now.
The first thing we need to do is fuel our engine for the journey.
We can power up every cell of our body by breathing deeply.
Our breath gives us oxygen,
Which all the parts of our body and brain need.
So let's power up our engine now.
Inhale through your nose.
Exhale through your nose.
Inhale deeply from your belly all the way up to your chest.
Exhale deeply from your chest down to your belly.
Now allow yourself to feel what it feels like to be inside your own body.
As we begin the inner space adventure,
You may feel some movement or warmth inside of you.
Colors,
Pictures,
Or sounds may come into your mind.
There's no one way to do this.
One's inner space is different and perfect for them.
And you may not feel anything right away.
Just give it some time and some breath.
Have patience with your inner journey and let your breath help you find your way.
Breathe in,
Breathe out.
Now using your imagination,
Feel your body begin to dissolve into sparkling bits of energy.
Start with your head,
Your face,
Your neck,
All dissolving into sparkling energy.
Feel the energy moving down into your arms,
Hands,
And fingers.
All the bones and muscles are dissolving into energy.
Feel your shoulders and back dissolving into energy like waves of light flowing through you.
Feel the energy that is inside your chest and your belly.
Feel all the parts of your chest and belly dissolving into energy.
Now feel the sparkling energy moving down your legs and feet.
Feel your whole self as shining energy.
With your high-powered inner awareness telescope,
Begin to feel and see the space inside of you.
Imagine the cells of your body,
Then go inside the cells and see the atoms and molecules like bits of energy whirling around each other.
Feel the space between the molecules.
Realize that there is lots of space inside of you,
Space that's filled with bright,
Sparkling energy.
Stay here for another few seconds,
Breathing in and out,
In and out.
Feel yourself as energy.
When you are ready,
Take a deep breath in and exhale.
Let yourself come back to feeling your bones and feeling your muscles sitting where you are.
Open your eyes and feel your appreciation for the special energy that you are.
