All too often we take our lives for granted, and the beauty in our existence becomes mundane and routine. This meditation will reconnect you to your life and remind you to pause and appreciate the magic that is everywhere. Never take tomorrow for granted, for tomorrow might never come, and so the answer to a happy life is to live as if there is no tomorrow.

Greetings,

My fellow traveller.

How are you today?

However you are,

It's all welcome here.

All of you is welcome here.

Your sadness,

Your joy,

Your stress,

Your tiredness.

However you're feeling right now,

Whatever you're going through,

All of it is welcome here.

This is a safe place to bring all of you.

No need for masks or painting a smile on your face.

No need for anything except just to be yourself.

To start our time together,

Let us begin with a few long deep breaths.

Deep breaths to bring us stillness.

To bring us to this very moment,

Because this very moment is all there is.

So,

Breathe in deeply through your nose,

Filling your body with the light and the love of the universe.

And breathe out what's transpired in your day before this moment.

Breathe in peace and stillness.

And breathe out the tensions of the day.

Breathe in quiet.

And breathe out all the noise.

You deserve to slow down.

You deserve this moment of complete peace.

We connect to ourselves in the stillness.

We heal ourselves when we give ourselves time to just be without doing anything.

Today's affirmation audio journey is about appreciating this very moment of your life.

Not wanting anything to be different.

Not needing anything to change.

But to be in a grateful state of amazement of who you are and what you have in your life right now in this exact moment.

Tomorrow is not promised.

And yet we all take tomorrow for granted.

We all assume tomorrow is just around the corner.

But what if tomorrow didn't come?

What if today was your last day on this beautiful planet?

I'm not saying this to make you sad or to depress you.

On the contrary,

I'm saying this to enable you to see the beauty in everything as it is right now.

Living our lives as if there might not be a tomorrow is the way we live our greatest life of all.

You may take your dog for the same walk in the same park every day.

You may drive the same roads,

Take the same route every day when you go to work.

You may buy your food at the same supermarket or grocery store week in and week out.

And all these things become habit become a routine that we do from a place of half consciousness.

We walk the same aisles of food and groceries.

We see the same trees.

We stop at the same set of lights.

It all gets familiar.

It all gets a little routine and mundane.

But what if today was the last day you got to do any of those things?

What if the next time you take your dog for a walk,

You allow yourself to contemplate the possibility that this might be the last ever dog walk that you ever do.

Just with that thought in mind,

You will see everything differently in a new light from a whole different perspective.

You will marvel at the breathtaking beauty of nature,

How all the trees are different hues of green and all completely individual,

Just like human beings are.

You'll look up at the sky like it may be the last time you see the sky with gray clouds or a glorious bright sun or the miracle of rain falling to the earth so our planet can drink and thrive and grow or the mundane act of going to the grocery store,

Walking the same aisles,

Trying to work out what to make for dinner.

What if this was your last ever trip to the grocery store?

Instead of taking all the variety of food and all the hundreds of different products for granted,

You could marvel at each and every one of them.

You could go to the fruit and vegetable section and be brought to tears by the fact you have so much beauty and deliciousness to choose from.

That each and every aisle is packed with wonder,

With things that make your tummy smile,

Things that make your home sparkle,

Herbs and spices and candy and chocolate and rice and bread.

The list goes on and on and on.

Knowing that tomorrow isn't promised,

Knowing that tomorrow may never come,

Transforms a simple grocery store into a magical kingdom full of weird and wonderful offerings.

Knowing that tomorrow isn't promised makes everything you do no longer mundane and routine but something marvelous to be savoured for the very last time.

You can appreciate everything if you comprehend the possibility that it may be the very last time that you do it.

Brush your teeth like it's the last time you ever will.

Eat an apple like it's the very last time you will ever taste that crunch and sweetness.

Watch something on TV like it's the last time you ever will.

Listen to your favourite song like you may never hear it again.

Look at your loved ones and soak them in like you may never see them again.

This is how we could live our lives each and every day.

From a place of profound appreciation,

Hunger and gratitude.

Take nothing for granted.

Knowing nothing is really mundane or routine in our lives.

This is it.

This is the moment we have and we might not have another moment.

So I'm going to be quiet now and leave you to relish in this perfect moment of being you.

What if this was the last time you got to sit in quiet and stillness with yourself?

No time to waste putting yourself down or feeling unworthy.

This is your moment to appreciate everything you are.

The skin you're in,

The emotions you feel,

The people in your life that you love,

Your home,

Your bed,

The sky outside,

The earth beneath your feet.

Bask in the wonder of your life right now as if tomorrow might never come.

Bask in the wonder of your life right now as if tomorrow might never come.

Bask in the wonder of your life right now as if tomorrow might never come.

Bask in the wonder of your life right now as if tomorrow might never come.

How was that for you?

How was that for you,

My fellow traveler?

I hope this affirmation audio journey didn't make you feel sad.

I hope the idea that tomorrow isn't promised sets you free to appreciate everything you have in this beautiful life that you're living right now.

Knowing there might not be a tomorrow doesn't have to be depressing or overwhelming or make you anxious or fearful.

Instead,

Knowing there might not be a tomorrow can break you free from a lifetime of regret,

Routine,

Monotony or wanting things to be different.

Life is all about perspective.

It's all about point of view.

And you get to choose how you see your life at this very moment.

This was very eye opening. I spend way too much time living in the what ifs instead being in the here and now. This gives me a new perspective. Now I must put it into action. That is the trick. 😀

That was incredible. It did make me sad but I pulled myself out of that quickly because I knew what you were trying to get the listener to do. I’ve been in a struggling slump for what could be years now. It’s not really me as I’ve witnessed myself being so positive and happy for so many years in the past; but I’m holding on to pain and guilt and keep myself in a sad state. The work you publish here on Insight Timer is so valuable Saskia. The difficulties that you’ve been through in your life and now able to gift the wisdom to us listeners is epic. I know that you’re the real deal Saskia and I think I’ll listen to this track again now while I’m sitting here doing a jigsaw puzzle. It’s benefit is huge. Thank you massively again! Thank you!
