When you were little,
You didn't ask for permission to shine.
You naturally shone as bright as you wanted.
You sang out loud badly.
You wore outfits that felt like magic.
You trusted your imagination way more than your logic.
But then the world arrived with all of its rules.
Don't be too loud.
Don't want too much.
Don't draw outside the lines.
And so you learned to perform.
To be what the world expected you to be.
You learned to trade your authenticity for approval.
And as a consequence,
Your aliveness faded away.
So today we're getting it back.
You're going to reconnect to your magic.
And remember that you can shine as bright as you want to.
If your eyes aren't closed,
Then I invite you to close them now.
And picture yourself at three or five or seven years old.
A time in your childhood before you learned how to shrink yourself.
See that version of you now,
Doing something ridiculous and joyful.
Like spinning around in circles and falling on the grass in giggles.
Or painting a picture but having so much more fun getting the paint all over yourself.
Or talking to imaginary friends or climbing trees.
Notice how carefree they are.
Notice how this child doesn't care about what other people think.
They don't care about outcomes or opinions.
They care about magic,
Joy and wonder.
They care about play.
They care about connection.
So now instead of observing this version of yourself,
Like an adult analysing their youth and innocence,
I want you to step into their world now.
I want you to step into their world and start spinning.
Or pick up that paintbrush or climb that tree.
Whatever it is they're doing,
Join in.
Be that carefree,
Joyful,
Magic version of you again now.
Remember how that magic felt.
Reconnect to the feeling of play,
Curiosity,
Simplicity and mischief.
Feel those sensations again in your body now.
That sensation you're feeling isn't in the past.
That sensation is your truth waking up again.
It's the real you pushing through everything you built to survive and to fit in.
You are not who the world told you to be.
You are who you started out as being.
Wild.
Original.
Free.
And whole.
That's who you really are.
It's time to stop performing,
Stop perfecting and start returning to what's real.
To peel off every rule,
Every expectation,
Every mask,
Every disguise until what's left is pure and unmistakably you.
The world taught you to be acceptable but your soul came here to be electric.
So today please be too much.
Please allow yourself to be wild in some small way.
Wear colourful clothes that don't blend in.
Sing loudly and badly to a song you don't want to admit you love.
Because every act of joyful honesty is a doorway back to yourself.
And the more you allow yourself to be truly,
Wildly you,
The louder your life begins to hum and vibrate with that truth.
Making everything in your life shinier and brighter.
