An affirmation audio journey is for people who struggle with meditation but are longing for some kind of spiritual practice.
There is no wrong or right here.
You don't have to sit cross-legged.
You don't have to completely clear your mind of thoughts.
You just have to come with an open mind and an open heart and the willingness to heal yourself.
So just get very comfortable either sitting,
Walking or lying down.
You could be home alone,
Sitting on a busy train or walking your dog in the forest.
As long as you have headphones on or peace and quiet to hear my words,
Then this affirmation audio journey will help you to heal yourself.
All you have to do is listen with an open heart and an open mind.
Today's affirmation audio journey is about perfection,
Chasing perfection.
Why is it so many of us are always chasing after perfection?
Always trying to be perfect,
To do things perfectly,
To treat people perfectly,
To heal perfectly,
To succeed perfectly.
When deep down,
We all know the dire mental and emotional consequences of striving for an unattainable idea.
Perfection is an unattainable idea.
And in the core of your being,
You know that to be true.
And yet,
You continue to chase perfection.
You continue pressuring yourself,
Pushing yourself,
Beating yourself down and berating yourself because you aren't more perfect.
Because you're failing at doing things perfectly.
And then you wonder,
Why are you struggling to be happy?
You struggle to be happy because you are continuously cruel to yourself.
You struggle to be happy because nothing you do is ever good enough.
You struggle to be happy because you don't let what you do be good enough.
You struggle to be happy because you're always trying to be perfect.
Stop trying to be perfect and you will be happy.
You are trying too hard to be something that doesn't exist.
You're trying to be something that doesn't exist.
So let's take some deep breaths together and start letting go of perfection.
I want you to breathe in deeply through your nose.
Hold at the top for a few seconds and then breathe out your mouth all the pressure of perfectionism.
So let's breathe in now exactly who we are.
Hold at the top and sigh out any pressure of being perfect.
Let's breathe in acceptance of everything that is.
Hold at the top and breathe out any false ideals we are chasing.
Let's breathe in the beauty within us that we already are.
Hold at the top and breathe out the need to be someone different.
And now return to your normal breathing.
Perfection is self hate disguised as another word.
Perfection is self hate disguised as another word.
As long as you continue striving to be perfect,
You continue telling yourself that you are not good enough now.
As long as you continue striving to be perfect,
You continue belittling yourself and putting yourself down.
Striving for perfection is trying to run away from who you are and run towards someone that isn't real.
Striving for perfection is trying to run away from who you are and run towards something that doesn't even exist.
Why do you keep running away from yourself?
Maybe now is the time to stop running away from yourself.
Connect to these words.
See how that feels inside of you.
See how it feels to stop running away from yourself.
Stop running away from yourself because you don't believe yourself is good enough.
You are good enough.
You are good enough.
Right here with all the faults,
The triggers,
The defects,
The mistakes,
The guilt,
The shame,
The fear.
With all of this,
You are beautiful,
Worthy and good enough right now.
You don't have to fix any part of yourself in order to be happy.
You just have to let yourself be completely you and let go of the illusionary lives of perfection.
You don't have to be like anyone else.
You don't have to be as good as anyone else.
You don't have to be better than anyone else.
You can just be the beautiful,
Imperfect person that you are and celebrate yourself.
To be happy,
All you have to do is embrace every single part of yourself because that is how you heal.
To be happy,
All you have to do is choose right now to accept yourself 100% exactly the way you are.
If you can do that,
If you can open yourself to just the potential of loving yourself,
Then you've discovered the key to everything because the key to everything starts with loving yourself.
Loving yourself even more because you are so beautifully imperfect.
When you let go of perfection,
You let go of fear,
You let go of anxiety,
You let go of trauma,
You let go of everything that no longer serves you because you find peace,
Complete and total peace in just loving and accepting yourself for the very first time in your life.
Don't spend the time you have left hating yourself or chasing perfection.
Don't spend the time you have left putting yourself down and telling yourself you're not good enough.
You are good enough.
You are so much more than enough.
You are extraordinary.
Whether it feels good to hear me say that or not.
Your body might resist when I say those words to you,
But that doesn't mean the words aren't true.
The resistance you feel in your body when I say kind,
True words about you is just a wall you've built inside your mind.
A wall of perfection that makes sure you never believe the truth of who you really are.
Imagine that wall of perfection in your mind's eye right now.
Imagine that wall and see the word perfection painted across this wall in bright,
Wet,
Red paint.
See that wall of perfection now that is holding you back from everything you desire.
Peace,
Acceptance,
Compassion,
Forgiveness,
Self-belief,
Worthiness.
All these things exist on the other side of that wall of perfection you've created in your mind's eye.
All you need to do is make the decision to break through that wall so you can start living a new way from this moment onwards.
It's not even a particularly strong wall.
It may look impossible to break,
But it's just a few bricks of false beliefs caused by a lifetime of conditioning.
It's an easy wall to knock down.
You just need to believe you can do it.
So now,
I want you to imagine yourself holding a giant hammer,
So powerful that just one hit will make the wall crumble into powder.
But before you do this,
Before you make this decision to knock this wall of perfection down,
You must know this.
Know that once you knock that wall down,
Perfection no longer exists.
Because once you knock down that wall,
You will accept and love all parts of yourself,
Even the parts you hate.
In fact,
You will choose to love the parts of you that you hate most of all.
Because you know deep down in your heart,
It is those parts,
Your broken parts,
That need unconditional love and acceptance so that they can heal and fade away.
Holding that hammer now,
Destroy that wall of perfection once and for all.
Feel yourself take your power back and smash that wall to nothing.
It's done.
It's gone.
No more perfection.
No more trying to not be you.
No more running away from yourself.
Turn back to yourself now and give yourself a loving embrace.
Right now,
Wherever you are,
Wrap your arms around yourself.
Hold yourself more deeply than you have ever been held.
And say to yourself,
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
I'm sorry I've always made you feel like you aren't good enough.
You are good enough and I love you.
I believe in you.
I'm sorry I abandoned you.
But I'm here now and I will never abandon you again.
I really,
Really do love you.
And I'm sorry I hurt you.
You are beautifully imperfect.
And I accept you exactly the way you are.
You are enough.
You are worthy.
You are perfectly enough for me.
Be here with yourself now.
Spend time with yourself.
You don't spend enough time with yourself in peace and quiet.
So for the next few seconds,
I invite you to just be with yourself.
To sit with you.
To accept you and experience exactly how you're feeling right now.
There is no wrong way or right way to feel.
All of you is accepted here.
Just feel whatever you're feeling,
Whether your mind is busy or still.
It doesn't matter as long as you're quietly spending a little time with you.
We've now come to the end of this meditation.
This was a very powerful journey.
So please slowly and gently take some deep breaths to bring yourself back and ground yourself in the here and now.
Wriggle your fingers and toes,
Your hands and your feet.
And when you're ready,
Open your eyes and continue living your beautiful life.
And know with 100% certainty that I love you.

Really love yourself too.
