Transforming your relationship to shame Welcome to this healing journey Where we will explore and transform your relationship with shame If your eyes aren't closed then I invite you to close them now Allow yourself to slow everything down Simply by placing all of your focus on your breath Slowing down your breathing Closing the doors to the outside world Coming inside yourself There's nothing else but you,

The music And creating a brand new relationship to the emotion of shame Shame is an emotion that many of us carry deep within us Often hidden from view And yet so profoundly impactful Shame can feel overwhelming Like a heavy weight pressing down on you Constricting your chest Making you want to disappear or hide away It's a feeling that seems to engulf you Leaving you feeling small,

Unworthy and disconnected from your true self But today you're going to shift your perspective on shame Today it will no longer have the power over you that it has for your whole life You're going to see shame for what it truly is Not as the enemy But as a messenger A guide that's trying to lead you back to a place of self love and wholeness I know this is going to be a little bit uncomfortable But I'd like you to bring to mind a time when you felt shame Perhaps it's a recent experience or a memory that's lingered in your heart for a long time As this memory surfaces I just want you to notice where you feel the shame in your body Maybe it's a sick feeling in the pit of your stomach Maybe a tightness in your chest Or a heavy feeling that engulfs you from your head to your toes However it feels just bring your awareness to the feeling of shame in your body without any judgment Just notice it and breathe into it And as you focus on this feeling of shame I invite you to view it from a whole new perspective Instead of seeing shame as something that defines you Instead of seeing shame as a reflection of your worth I want you to imagine that the feeling of shame is an alarm bell from your soul That sensation in your body is a very loud signal It's your soul poking you from the inside out A nudge from deep within This feeling of shame is not here to punish you It's here to guide you You have misunderstood the emotion of shame It isn't a feeling that can kill you It's a call from your inner self From the most tender vulnerable parts of you Begging for your attention,

Your care and your love The times when you feel shame are when you need yourself most of all Shame arises when there is part of you that feels unseen,

Unloved or unworthy It's like a signal flare,

An SOS asking for your help Alerting you to the parts of your heart that you've perhaps neglected,

Overlooked or pushed aside So instead of turning away from this feeling,

What if from now on you turned towards it?

What if you saw shame as an invitation to deepen your relationship with yourself?

In this moment I invite you to place your hands over your heart Feel the warmth of your hands And imagine that warmth spreading through your chest Enveloping your heart And moving to wherever you feel the shame in your body Just breathe into this warmth allowing it to grow Imagine it as a healing light,

Soft,

Gentle and compassionate And now I would simply like you to silently repeat the following Shame is a call for love Shame is a call for my own love and attention This part of me that feels shame is like a small child My inner child Who is scared,

Hurt or feeling unloved I know this now I know I need to hold space for myself most of all When I feel shame My inner child is looking to me for comfort When I feel shame My inner child is looking for unconditional love and reassurance I will no longer judge or punish that part of myself Instead I will give myself kindness and love I will wrap my arms around myself and tell myself that I am safe I am worthy I am loved exactly as I am And now I would like you to wrap your arms around yourself And imagine you are embracing your inner child Feel the connection between you and this part of yourself that has been carrying the pain of shame As you hold this child,

Allow yourself to speak these words out loud The words your inner child has been waiting a lifetime to hear from you Just repeat after me You are safe with me I see you I hear you I feel you And I love you You are worthy There is nothing you could do to make me stop loving you You don't need to hide You don't need to feel ashamed You are perfect as you are And from now on I am here for you whenever you experience shame I love you I love you I love you Feel the love flowing from your heart into your inner child And as you do,

Notice how the feeling of shame fades away It starts to dissolve,

Replaced by a sense of warmth,

Compassion and connection You just transformed your relationship with shame Seeing it not as something to be feared or avoided But as an opportunity to deepen your relationship with yourself To heal old wounds And to embrace all parts of who you are As you continue to hold your inner child,

Recognise that every time you feel shame in the future It's simply a reminder to turn inward To offer yourself the love and attention you need and deserve Shame is a call to reconnect with the parts of yourself that you've forgotten or neglected To bring them back into the circle of your attention,

Love and acceptance Breathe deeply now Slowly returning to reality And let the sense of love and compassion expand within you Feel it filling your entire being Spreading from your heart to every part of your body You are whole You are worthy and you are deeply loved By yourself and by the whole universe When you're ready,

Gently open your eyes,

Carrying this new perspective with you as you move forward Remember that shame is not here to defeat you It's here to guide you back to yourself To remind you that you are always worthy of love,

No matter what You are powerful You are resilient And you are capable of transforming even the most painful of emotions Transforming them into opportunities for growth and deeper self-love Trust in this process And trust in yourself You are exactly where you need to be
