Welcome to this guided meditation,
Serenity by the Mountain Stream.
Find a quiet and comfortable place where you can connect with the soothing sounds of nature.
Take your time to lay down,
To feel warm and comfortable.
And close your eyes gently,
Let your breath become slow and easeful.
And in this place of easeful breath,
Imagine yourself in a serene mountain landscape.
You are surrounded by lush green forests,
Majestic peaks,
And the peaceful flow of a crystal clear mountain stream.
The water glistens in the very last of the evening sunlight,
Reflecting the beauty of the natural world around you.
Take your time to visualise yourself fully sat beside this stream.
Perhaps you feel the coolness of the rocks or moss beneath you.
The air is soft and cool.
You listen to the gentle murmur of the stream and allow these soothing sounds to wash away any busy thoughts from the day,
Any worries or distractions.
And as you enjoy listening to the symphony of nature around you,
You notice the birds singing their evening songs,
Leaves gently rustling in the breeze,
Perhaps the distant call of a waterfall.
And you feel a deep sense of connection to the natural world as you take in this beautiful tapestry of sound and scent and colour.
It feels as though with every easeful breath you are drawing in a little of that calm,
Still energy from the mountains around you.
And with every exhale you release any tension,
Allowing it to flow away from you as if carried by the stream.
You see this water flowing to you and past you.
It is a symbol of constant movement and change.
Life flows in a continuous cycle of transformation,
Growth and renewal.
And you see this wisdom within the stream,
Knowing that change is part of life.
And as the waters of the stream encounter rocks or obstacles along their way,
The stream does not stop.
It merely flows and moves,
Adjusting its course as needed,
Flowing over each new lump,
Bump or stone that it may find.
Just like the stream,
You have found paths through your day,
Through your week and through your year,
Facing new challenges with each day.
But now it is time to rest.
And you find the sparkling water so inviting.
You allow your feet to gently drop into the water and it gently washes over your feet and toes.
And it feels so calming.
You might feel rounded pebbles beneath your feet and you find yourself drawn to move a little deeper into the water.
And you walk along the path of the stream,
The tinkling and trickling of the water around you,
Flowing gently,
Allowing you to walk along the stream until you find yourself at a very small waterfall,
Just a step where the water cascades over the rocks,
Creating a harmonious melody.
You sit by this little waterfall and feel the mist of the splashing water gently touching your skin,
Cleansing and bringing you to a sense of total tranquility,
A sense that you may let go in this place with any burdens you may carry.
Allow the rushing water to carry anything away that you wish to let go.
And as we enjoy a few quiet minutes here at the waterfall,
Observe your breath and the sounds around you,
Feel the unity of the present moment where everything is in perfect harmony.
Within your mind's eye,
You might lay down beside the stream,
Beside the waterfall,
Letting the sound of flowing water lull you into a place of deep relaxation.
With each moment you feel more and more at peace,
Absorbed in the tranquility of this natural sanctuary.
And though we are journeying to the end of this guided meditation,
My hope is that you are gently drifting into sleep,
So there will be no chime sound at the end.
