It will guide you to the hypnagogic state, which is essentially a state of consciousness somewhere between wakefulness and sleeping. Due to its deeply relaxing nature, Yoga Nidra is excellent for people who find it difficult to go to sleep, as it not only relaxes the physical self but also calms the internal chatter of the mind. It's said that 1 hour of Yoga Nidra is equivalent to 4 hours of sleep.
