Welcome to your midday 5 minute ritual.

You've had a busy morning and it's time to restore your sense of calm and balance so that you can return to your duties and responsibilities with renewed energy.

Remember to turn off your notifications of your devices for 5 minutes so that you won't be distracted.

Start by noticing your breath.

Notice the quality of your breath.

Is it easy to breathe?

Is the air warm or cool?

Perhaps notice the sounds that surround you.

Just allow the sounds to fade into the background as you listen to my voice.

Bring your attention to the top of your head and imagine a soft breeze or a warm light gently touching the top of your head.

Feel the gentleness of this touch washing over your head and let it rest upon your shoulders like a comforting hand.

Let this hand reassure you.

And as it does,

Feel the weight of your concerns and responsibilities drop away.

Notice how your shoulders drop the tension that is held there.

Take a breath and sigh.

Notice your hands.

Let them rest gently in your lap.

As thoughts about your activities and responsibilities enter your mind,

Say to yourself,

Release.

Release.

And return your attention to your breath and my voice.

Listen to my words without questioning them or attaching any judgment or comments.

Just absorb them.

I am calm,

Centered and relaxed.

I feel an overwhelming sense of peace and tranquility.

I am confident and giving myself the gift of ease.

My focus is soft and I know it will return sharp and intense like a laser when I have finished my ritual.

Regardless of what storms may rage around me,

I remain an island of undisturbed serenity.

My thoughts and actions are in harmony with those around me.

I am full of hope and light.

My repose is unshakable.

Should difficulties arise,

I remain in control.

I have the power to solve my challenges.

I deal with these circumstances in a quiet and calm manner.

I am free from alarm because I am confident that I am capable of handling any situation.

I feel the stillness that resides at the core of my being.

And my breathing is in tune with the natural quiet that flows through the universe.

I control my concentration and know how to restore it.

I can feel my muscles relax one by one as I focus on my breathing.

My breath is focused on my heartbeat and that of the universe.

I resonate with the energy of all living things.

I feel well rested and content and I revel in the peacefulness of my inner thoughts.

I feel only happiness and joy for my fellow creatures.

I have only love and patience for all others in my world.

Today I am thankful for my self-control and my ability to find the calm center of my inner being in all situations.

I embrace peace and tranquility.

Now here are three questions for you.

What happens when I focus on my breathing rather than the events around me?

Who helps me to feel more calm,

Relaxed and in control?

And finally,

What steps will I take when I feel out of control or alarmed?

Slowly bring your attention back to your surroundings.

Allow the sounds that are around you to come into the foreground.

Maybe take another deep breath.

Maybe stretch.

Getting ready to carry on with your day.

You have granted yourself five minutes to restore yourself.

You are ready to take on the rest of your day.

Enjoy your afternoon.

Talk to you soon.

Bye for now.
