Begin by finding a comfortable position,
Either seated or lying down.
Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths.
Now I invite you to imagine your body as a sturdy oak tree,
Deeply rooted in the earth.
Begin to visualize,
Sense or feel the roots of this tree spreading out beneath you,
Anchoring you firmly to the ground.
Allow yourself to feel the life force and deeply grounded rooted energy flowing up from the earth through your feet,
Your ankles,
Your calves and shins,
Your knees,
Your thighs,
Your whole pelvic bowl,
Rising up through your torso and arms,
Your shoulders,
Neck and head,
Grounding and nourishing both your physical head and your mind.
As you remain here and breathe,
Your roots continue to grow deeper and deeper.
Visualize,
Sense or feel a strong,
Flexible spine rising up from the earth.
This is the trunk of your tree supporting you,
So you can feel the strong,
Stabilizing roots extending down to the earth and feeling your flexible,
Strong spine reaching towards the sky.
Feel the energy flowing up your spine,
Strengthening and energizing you with every breath you take.
At the top of your spine,
Imagine a crown of branches and leaves.
These branches represent your thoughts,
Feelings and experiences.
Allow them to sway gently in the breeze,
Allowing the breeze to gently blow away any unwanted or unhelpful thoughts or feelings.
Now imagine you are looking at a beautiful sky filled with stars.
Each star represents a loving presence in your life,
Perhaps a family member,
A friend,
A mentor or even a spiritual guide.
Allow yourself to feel their love and support surrounding you,
Enveloping you in a warm,
Comforting embrace.
Now visualizing or sensing a golden light descending from the stars,
Felling your crown.
This light is filled with love,
Wisdom and healing energy.
Let it flow down through your branches,
Down through your trunk and your roots,
Filling every part of your being.
As the golden light fills you,
Notice any areas of tension or discomfort.
Allow the light to dissolve these areas,
Bringing peace and relaxation.
And when you are ready,
Gently open your eyes and return your attention to the present moment.
