I want to invite you to stop.

Even in this moment you are doing.

You're taking action for your own self-development and to support your business.

You are doing.

Let it go.

Let go of all the movement and action you have created that whirls around you every day.

The spinning plates,

The balls in the air.

Let them stop.

Breathe.

Release yourself into the moment.

In the stillness that comes,

Can you feel the movement all around you?

Stillness is not the absence of movement just as silence is not the absence of sound.

This movement you can sense is the natural rhythm of life.

This is a rhythm you are part of and can flow with.

We created a business dynamic that is always on the go,

Always pushing and switched on.

We saw the natural cycles and chose to ignore them.

We sought immortality for our success.

The norm became the quest to be the peak at all times and always pushing for more.

But the pushing for more is happening with diminishing reserves.

Physical and energetic reserves are dwindling.

It's not sustainable on any level.

It drains the life force from the creative energy that is flowing through your business.

As this happens it slows and diminishes the shift in consciousness on the planet which is dependent on your business to bring its energy to make the shift happen.

The first step in healing this dynamic is to restore a natural rhythm.

In switching off and stepping out of the constant go we allow a more natural wisdom to step in.

Life,

Creation and experiences are a cycle.

There are seasons that are true for all life and periods of time.

They are held by the elements of earth,

Air,

Fire and water.

Within each season there is wisdom and a way of being that can help you.

Does it mean that you can only do certain things at certain times of the year if you choose to embrace this cycle?

It isn't as linear as that.

The cycle is the guide to restoration.

It will help you to approach things differently depending on the season or tap into the wisdom of the season to allow a cycle to flow.

Creativity and creation depend on this cycle.

Everything we do or create in our businesses needs to flow through the cycle which it will do in its own timing.

Recognising the season and how that allows you to adapt your approach will create space and freedom in your business life.

Pressure will disappear and you will be able to be present with your business as it evolves.

Our journey begins in winter.

This is the birthplace of all new growth and creative expression.

Winter is the season of earth.

It's where new growth is resourced.

It isn't a harvesting or a gathering but an opening to resources and allowing them to come together.

Winter is characterised by stillness and space.

At the apex of winter there is a hiatus when all that was is let go and all that will be is not yet taking form.

There is a flow from one reality to another but between them is a pause when you release all that is outside of you and you just are and you can hear the heartbeat of the earth.

It is a reset.

All that was has nourished all that will be but nothing is predetermined or formed.

Choice,

Freedom and a lack of restriction characterise this space.

Winter is the invitation to stop,

Release and restore.

Let go of what was and embrace what can be.

Applying this season to business when you are in winter absolutely takes some time to release and reset but also allow your business products and experiences to flow through the seasons at their own pace.

The wisdom of winter can come at any time to support you or rejuvenate a part of your business.

Some activities that work well in winter or draw on winter energy are reviewing,

Certainly at the beginning of winter,

What's working and what's not,

What feels right or doesn't,

What feels tired or out of step.

Prepare the ground to release or renew these aspects.

Connect to the essence of your business and its creations.

Why is your business here and what is it seeking?

Winter is the perfect time to explore this more deeply to support your expansion.

Organise and streamline.

Let go,

Declutter,

Upgrade,

Downgrade,

Adjust,

Make space for the new to take shape.

Winter flows into spring.

Cleaning allows the emergence of spring to happen with a freshness.

Winter may feel like a void or a space of lack of action but it's always in motion moving towards spring.

As we flow into spring the energy of air takes hold.

Spring is emergence.

It is the season when energy emerges from the inner realm to find its place in the outer realm.

It's a time to rebalance and find a different harmony.

Identity is found through active participation in life.

This is spring's part of the cycle.

It is the positioning for the becoming.

It's naturally curious and experimental.

In the hero's journey it is when the hero is removed from the known and begins the quest.

There is a freedom inherent in this time when there are no constraints and anything is possible.

Activities that work well in spring include seeking an expanded vision to pull your business forward especially if there are aspects,

Ideas or inspiration that are jostling to find a place within your business.

Have a revamp and renew old aspects of your business giving them an external or internal refresh.

Integrate some new developments and make sure they are part of your business not bolted on and try some new ideas.

In the participative experimentation your sense of identity and focus will begin to take hold which will translate into a sense of presence and this is when summer takes over.

Summer is held by fire.

This is the season of activating voice and presence.

Purpose,

Essence and vision come together and a mission is created that must be shared.

There is strength of energy and confidence that emerges.

This is the season most aligned with the current business dynamic.

It's where you can easily get stuck because you are in your power and out in the world.

It feels good but remember it's a flow not a place to stay.

Holding this energy in check consumes your reserves.

To be nourished by summer you must flow through it.

Summer is the tower or trial of the hero's journey.

It's where you discover yourself and open up to all that flows from this.

This is the moment of no return and being forever changed.

Hence why it is easy to resist the culmination of fire energy.

Without summer energy a business cannot become outwardly successful nor find its fullest expression.

So activities that work well in summer include share,

Speak,

Connect,

Own,

Take your work out to others,

Be bold,

Pitch,

Connect,

Take risks and do things that are outside of your comfort zone.

Do the thing that feels beyond you and take the chance.

You will find your power in the movement.

Work on your message and presentation but don't be held back by imperfection.

Passion is the ruler.

Be out there.

Summer is an external expression of the energy which will support you in sharing your message and work with others.

Summer is a becoming which flows into a realization of self.

There is an integration that has happened and it can only be sustained by conscious embodiment and so autumn takes over.

Autumn is the song of the self.

It's where truth is anchored into being and behavior.

Change is no longer change but a truth of now.

The seed is set.

The future has been birthed.

Autumn is held by water and it is the season that tends to dominate transformational work because the decision has been taken,

The words have been spoken and the actions have been taken that put people on the path of transformation.

This is the return home.

Deep in reflection of the seismic changes that have been and their impact on what comes next.

It is a deep space.

It is a dive through emotions to understand yourself.

It is resisted because of the intensity but without this concentration and focus growth cannot happen.

You will not be released into growth unless you go into the void.

The space from which your new baseline takes hold.

So activities that work well in autumn include acknowledging,

Recognizing and celebrating achievements and transformation.

Retreating to feel what's going to come next and setting your goals and aspirations.

Stretch yourself into your next phase.

The transition between seasons is conveniently mapped out for you.

The solstices and equinoxes can be your guide to the transition between seasons but equally you can plan your activities with the wisdom of the seasons just as you can plan to flow with the seasons.

Personally I think a combination of the two works well.

Each activity has its own schedule of moving from season to season while there is this pull to honour the season you are in as well.

However you choose to harness the wisdom of the seasons it is important to flow through the whole cycle or you will miss essential wisdom and growth.

Use this wisdom to flow all of your activities and you will harness all aspects of the creative cycle.

Connect to winter for essence,

Spring for expression,

Summer for presence and autumn for the truth.

Apply this flow to the order in which you create as well.

Design and structure communication and presence then the embodied experience of what you have created.

Following the flow means the creative act is fully resourced and able to be expressed externally.

The entire process will be more sustainable and impactful.

That was revealing for me Polly. It real got me thinking about the business cycle we are in now, winter. I can see the things I can do to get the development work done ready for spring. Have you read Robin Wall Kimmerer book Service Berry. She uses the plant Service Berry known by many names to share how the reciprocity of nature can translate into a business setting. I have been using it in my approach to new business development. Thanks for sharing your wisdom. ✌️❤️
