Receiving something as simple as a compliment can be uncomfortable. When it is difficult to receive the little things in life, receiving that which you desire the most becomes a mountain to climb. The Art of Receiving is a simple exercise to move the discomfort that blocks you from comfortably receiving and welcome your heart's desire into your life. Music: Waves of Hope by Music of Wisdom

To give without receiving is only half of the creative act.

To give is to create change,

Transformation.

And we are changed by that transformation too,

If we allow it.

Receiving is one of the most challenging aspects of life simply because there is so much that is in the way of receiving with ease.

A compliment or a gift may make you uncomfortable.

To give is easy,

It feels natural.

But to receive conjures many emotions that make you wriggle and divert attention.

Becoming open to receive is to complete the creative act.

To give and then receive the energy in return.

This energy can take many forms,

But it is a returning energy that comes from your creative expression.

In returning it strengthens,

It evolves you.

Receiving is your gateway to becoming.

Settle yourself into a comfortable position and take a deep breath.

As you exhale,

Drop into the moment and set the intention to explore and transform the experience of receiving.

Close your eyes.

Bring your attention to the tips of your toes.

As you inhale,

Pull the breath down through your body,

Right down to your toes.

Feel the breath move through you,

Bringing conscious awareness to your cells and allow the energy to travel beyond to anchor into the earth.

Exhale slowly and deeply.

Bring your attention to the top of your head.

As you inhale,

Pull the breath up through your body,

Connecting your focus to your cells and allow the energy to travel beyond to anchor into your soul star above your head.

Exhale slowly and deeply.

Bring your attention to your heart.

As you inhale,

Pull the breath into your heart space and send your breath and your heart energy out into the space all around you.

You are standing at the water's edge.

Waves are gently lapping over your feet.

The moon is shining on the water's surface.

Calmness and peace surround you.

The gentle rhythm of the movement drops you into presence in this moment.

As the water retreats,

Breathe into your heart and send out the energy of your heart's consciousness into the world.

Feel the joy and happiness of extending your pure heart energy into the world.

As the wave returns,

Exhale and feel the energy returning to you.

Receive this energy.

As you receive the energy,

You may feel discomfort in your body.

You may even resist receiving it altogether.

Just breathe into the discomfort and move the emotion that lies behind it.

And in the movement,

You may be able to grasp its origin and root.

Give the emotion permission to move out of your body and dissolve.

Inhale again expanding your heart energy out into the world.

And as the wave returns,

Receive the energy.

As the energy lands in your body,

It strengthens the outgoing heart energy.

It becomes more conscious or intentional.

The power of it is amplifying.

Bring one hand to your heart and one hand to your belly.

Visualise that which your heart most desires to receive.

Expand that visualisation through your heart,

Sharing this energy with the world.

Allow the returning energy of this desire to land in your field and your body.

Observe your physical reactions and sensations.

Encourage the emotions to move through you.

Bring your hand to wherever you feel discomfort and give the energy permission to move.

Continue breathing in a pattern of extending your heart energy as you inhale and receiving the energy as you exhale until the energy you are receiving feels light and full of movement and the energy you are extending feels expansive.

And when you are ready,

Let your body begin to feel more relaxed.

Wiggle your toes,

Letting the ripples of energy from the movement flow up your legs.

Wiggle your fingers to send energy waves up your arms.

Trace the ripples all through your body until you feel ready to come back to your day and open your eyes.
