Hi,
And welcome to this meditation for cultivating your inner strength.
My name is Paula Napitano and I'll be your guide today.
This meditation exercise offers a way to deeply reconnect with the strength inside you.
Offering a few moments to connect with the mindfulness,
Compassion,
And wisdom that you intend to bring to your life.
Reminding yourself that you're capable of meeting this situation and any others with wisdom.
Let's begin.
Come into a comfortable position,
Closing the eyes if that feels comfortable for you,
And begin by taking a few deep breaths in through the nostrils and fully exhale out of the mouth.
Begin to bring to mind a difficult situation you might be facing.
Maybe a situation that's bringing some fear or anxiety,
Might be something in the recent past or something coming up.
Just begin to recognize any fear or aversion that's present with you right now.
Maybe you need to have a difficult conversation with a loved one or have an upcoming doctor appointment that's bringing some worry.
Maybe you want to ask for a raise or a promotion.
Whatever the situation is,
Hold it gently in your mind.
And rather than diving into the stories in your head about the situation,
Begin to ask yourself what the strongest version of yourself would do and how they would handle the situation.
Picture your strong self handling the situation with complete kindness,
Compassion,
Mindfulness,
Patience,
And wisdom.
And as you observe the situation in your head,
Make an effort to notice the strength within you.
Allow yourself to feel strong and confident.
And if and when you begin doubting yourself,
Return to the strong version of yourself.
Reconnect with your intentions of wisdom and compassion in the face of your difficulties.
Continue to breathe deeply but naturally.
And if your mind begins to wander off into other thoughts or distractions,
That's okay.
Simply observe this and bring your awareness back to your breath and back to the visualization of yourself,
Your strong self,
Coping with whatever difficulties you're facing right now.

You can also try working with a different situation or event.
Simply let the event go that's currently in your mind and bring to mind a different situation or event.
And continue to connect with the strength that you have within you.
Or if you prefer,
Simply to continue with the one experience playing it through your mind multiple times,
Connecting with the strength within you.
And continue to connect with the strength that you have within you.
And continue to connect with the strength that you have within you.
Now,
Letting go of the event or situation that you were bringing to mind and return your awareness to the breath.
Breathing naturally and fully.
And see if with each exhale if you're able to soften the body.
Let the shoulders drop away from the ears.
Allow the jaw to relax and soften the muscles in the abdomen.
Stay with both of these.
And as we come to the end of this practice,
Bring some movement back into the body,
Perhaps wiggling the fingers and toes or rolling the shoulders.
And when you're ready,
You can open your eyes.
You can return to this visualization anytime you need a few moments to reconnect with the inner strength and wisdom inside of you.
