Welcome to today's short heart opening breathwork session,
Where today we'll focus on opening the heart center,
Creating space for love,
For compassion and forgiveness.
Throughout the session as you breathe,
Allow your heart to soften and let yourself be open to receive.
So begin by sitting comfortably with the back upright,
The spine tall,
Gently tucking your chin to elongate the spine,
Letting your shoulders fall away from your ears,
Allowing yourself to be alert and still relaxed.
Close your eyes if that feels comfortable,
Take a deep breath in through the nose,
And then a slow breath out through the mouth.
Continue at your own pace to take a few nice nourishing breaths in through the nose,
Feeling the lungs expand,
And then out through the mouth,
Softening any tension you're holding.
Place one hand over your heart,
And just take a moment to feel its gentle rhythm.
Perhaps with each breath you can imagine you're breathing directly into your heart space.
Inhale deeply through your nose with each breath.
Then with each exhale,
Allow your heart to relax,
Softening any tension or tightness.
Continue breathing this way,
Slowly and deeply,
Letting your breath expand the space around your heart.
With each inhale,
Imagine your heart filling with a soft golden light.
And with each exhale,
Visualize that light spreading throughout your body,
Filling you with love and compassion.
Continuing to allow your heart to fill with this soft golden light on every inhale.
And with every exhale,
Feeling this light spreading throughout your body,
Filling you with love and compassion.
And now begin to silently say to yourself on the inhale,
I open my heart.
And on the exhale,
I am worthy of love.
With each inhale,
I open my heart.
With each exhale,
I am worthy of love.
And allow your breath to carry these affirmations into every part of you.
Every inhale,
Expanding your capacity to love and to be loved.
If any feelings of resistance or fear arise,
Simply breathe into them,
Allowing the breath to gently soften and dissolve them.
And as you continue breathing,
Imagine a sense of deep love flowing in with each inhale.
And allow this love to not only fill your own heart,
But also to radiate outward,
Touching others in your life.
With every exhale,
Letting go of any walls or barriers that might be guarding your heart.
Breathing into any of those walls or barriers,
And allowing the breath to gently soften and dissolve them.
Take a few more breaths here.
Allowing your heart to open even wider.
Feeling the energy of love,
Compassion and forgiveness growing stronger with every breath.
And rest in this space.
Breathing in love.
Exhaling anything that no longer serves your heart.
And now when you're ready,
Gently bring your awareness back to the present moment.
Take one final deep breath in.
And as you exhale,
Carry the openness of your heart with you into your day.
Allow some gentle movement through the body.
When you feel ready,
Gently open the eyes.
