Welcome,
Friends.
Welcome to part three of this three-part series.
Part one is resting,
Part two is releasing,
And part three is trusting,
Trusting yourself.
Because in order to be free of the shoulds,
It's really essential for you to trust yourself.
Trust your deepest knowing,
Your deepest listening.
Because when you trust yourself,
You don't have to preplan what you're going to say,
And you're not operating under the auspices of what someone else thinks you should be doing or should not be doing.
In other words,
Trust is very freeing.
So let's meditate now,
Taking some deep breaths,
Deep,
Deep breaths.
And every breath is an invitation to sink in,
To rest,
To relax,
To drop deeper.
Letting the eyes rest,
Relaxing the lids,
Relaxing your face,
And releasing the jaw.
You might even let your mouth be slightly open,
Allowing the shoulders to soften,
Creating space in your neck.
Let's attune to the breath,
Attuning to the breath,
My friends.
The breath is a good friend.
It is trustworthy.
And this is an exploration of what it is to trust yourself.
Trust your deepest self by allowing your awareness to rest deeper and deeper.
Trusting,
Trusting that you know what is true for you.
When you get really quiet,
When you pause,
When you surrender the mental activity of trying to figure things out,
Just setting that aside,
The analysis,
The figuring out,
The calculating,
The weighing of your options.
Trust,
Trust my friends.
Trust happens in the spaciousness of being.
When the heart begins to soften,
And the mind becomes quiet,
And you can listen,
Listen to the silence.
Trusting what reveals itself.
And it may be that you have practiced not trusting yourself,
Or you had people in your life who said things,
And somehow you trusted them.
Moving away from your own deepest knowing.
This is a moment to return,
To return to the relaxed,
Open spaciousness of being.
Just breathing,
Opening to that silent space of the heart.
This deep space within is trustworthy.
It is trustworthy.
So be curious.
Listen to the whispers,
The whispers of silent intelligence.
And these whispers are quite different from the thoughts that may circulate in your mind.
The beliefs,
The conditioning.
Trust something deeper,
My friends.
When all the striving,
The doubting,
The wondering ceases.
When you are in an open pause,
Listen and trust.
Trust that you will know what is needed.
You will know how to respond.
And it might not make sense to the mind,
Or to the people around you.
And that's okay.
Trust yourself.
So let us sit quietly for a little bit.
I am here with you.
We are here together in the silent space.
Trust yourself,
Dear friends.
Trust yourself.
Thank you for meditating with me.
Thank you.
