I'd like you to begin.
To begin by taking some nice deep breaths slowly and gently.
This is meditation about slowing down.
So take your time.
Take your time.
Make yourself really comfortable.
Really,
Really comfortable.
Turn your attention toward yourself with a big breath.
Because breathing,
Especially deep,
Slow breathing,
Is a wonderful way to relax,
To slow down,
To let your body settle.
Slowly breathing and relaxing,
Recognizing that you have carved precious moments out from your day,
To slow down,
To reset your whole system,
To align with the deeper current that is flowing through you.
So just taking your time,
Savoring every breath,
Luxuriating in this moment.
And if your mind wants to wander or look ahead into what's coming next,
Gently and kindly direct it back to this moment.
Because it is in the act of slowing down that you are discovering yourself.
You're giving yourself space to be.
And it is in this space of being that you can heal,
That you can receive insights and clarity,
Clarity about things in your life that you may have been trying to figure out.
By slowing down,
Information can come in.
So just breathing,
Feeling the weight of your eyelids and how they're gently covering your eyes and perhaps simply by noticing your eyelids and how heavy they can be,
Everything else can relax.
And right now,
You are creating new neural pathways for slowing down so that if you're in a situation where you feel like rushing or running away or running toward,
You can slow down and move toward or away gracefully,
Gently,
With kindness,
Welcoming what comes and releasing what goes with compassion,
Slowing down.
And you may discover that after you listen to this meditation,
You'll feel more relaxed and at ease.
And perhaps you'll notice when you have an impulse to rush that you recognize the habit pattern of rushing.
You pause and you slow down because there is no rush.
There is no rush in most situations.
But if you're being literally chased by a tiger,
Then it is wise to run as fast as you can.
And in our daily lives,
Most of us are not being chased by tigers,
Even though it feels like it.
Slowing down allows for the space of wisdom to arise to show itself.
Slowing down can feel so good and then even when you're moving physically,
Quickly,
Internally,
You can slow down,
Being aware,
Being present,
Noticing yourself connected to the current of aliveness,
To the nature of your own being.
Taking a few breaths and allowing everything that's been said and heard to sink in more deeply,
More deeply,
More deeply.
And so it is.
And so it is.
And so it is.
