Hi,
This is Padma and today I want to offer you a meditation on letting go.
I'm finding more and more in my life that when I am willing to let go,
To let go of control,
To trust,
Then I'm surprised.
I am surprised by what it is that reveals itself,
That offers itself in response to letting go.
So there's huge value and it can be scary because it means entering into the unknown and trusting that life will respond when we open ourselves,
When we relinquish our ideas of how things are supposed to be,
How it should look,
How someone should behave,
What the timing should be.
You can notice that there are a lot of shoulds in there.
Good is a word that often points to judgment,
Control,
Preconceived notions.
So this meditation is about letting go,
Letting go of preconceived notions,
Letting go of trying to control what is in reality out of our control.
And once we can relax into that,
Once we can align ourselves with that,
Life gets easier.
Life gets easier.
So that is my introduction and I invite you right now to set things aside,
To close your eyes,
To find yourself in a comfortable,
Quiet,
Safe place,
A comfortable,
Quiet,
Safe place where you can turn your attention inward for a while.
Turn your attention inward and just take a few full breaths.
This may be the first time you've stopped all day.
So what if you allow yourself,
We all allow ourselves to just breathe and let go,
Breathing and letting go,
Breathing and letting go.
Letting go can be as simple as exhaling.
Just noticing how the body is letting go as you allow the breath to release,
Releasing on the exhale,
Letting go.
There's a grace that occurs as we allow ourselves to let go.
Letting go of thoughts of the past,
Ideas about the future and simply allowing ourselves to relax and release and open into this moment.
Maybe just noticing what your body feels like,
What happens when the muscles can hang off of the bones.
Maybe the jaw softens,
Just noticing the places that are willing to let go without coercion,
Without much persuasion,
Just simply the invitation to release,
To let go,
To breathe.
And perhaps taking a moment and being curious about something that you've been holding onto,
That you've been focusing on,
Really dwelling on perhaps a bit more than needed.
Just allowing yourself to breathe and surrender that thought,
Surrendering the push behind the desire,
Surrendering any clinging that might be going on,
Because when we don't cling,
When we open our hands,
When we are opening our breath,
We're making space,
Surrendering,
We can still make our wishes known to the universe,
To the people in our lives,
And then we surrender,
We open.
So right now,
Just taking a big breath and opening wider,
Making space and opening,
Opening yourself,
Freeing yourself from preconceived notions,
From ideas of how things should be,
Because when we open ourselves,
We open ourselves to possibilities.
So right now,
With this breath,
Opening,
Opening to possibilities that you cannot even fathom.
So often,
Our ideas are so much smaller than what is possible.
There are myriad possibilities,
Potentials that are occurring right now.
It's just a matter of receiving,
Opening,
Widening,
Which means letting go,
Letting go,
Dropping in and down,
And letting go of any ideas,
Any places where you might be holding on,
Trying to control.
So as you listen to this process,
It gets easier and easier,
And whatever we do,
Whatever we practice,
When we engage the subconscious mind,
When we engage something deeper,
It starts to appear in our day-to-day lives,
Funneling through the conscious mind,
Dimensionalizing in the time-space continuum.
And it all begins with letting go,
With letting go of control,
With letting go of thinking that we know.
So right now,
Just take a big breath,
Letting go,
Trusting,
Releasing,
Trusting,
And releasing.
And if you have the time,
Just resting here for a few more minutes,
Letting everything sink in,
Realizing that something deeper is in charge,
And that you can let go,
Release,
Relax,
Surrendering control.
And as you do,
Perhaps you'll find that you have more energy,
More space,
Space for inspiration to come in,
Space for life to unfold,
Space to receive what is already here,
Space to receive yourself and the gifts that are your life,
The gifts that are your life,
By surrendering,
Letting go,
Letting go,
Letting go.
And so it is,
So it is,
So it is.
