COURSE

Create Your Mindful Evening Ritual

With Norma Serena Hogan

Most of us end the day the same way we spent it: rushing, scrolling, half-present, never quite landing. We carry the weight of the day into sleep, and wonder why we wake up still tired. This course is an invitation to do something different: Over five audio sessions, you will be guided through the five elements of a complete evening ritual: the Rose, Thorn, Bud reflection practice; breathwork for nervous system restoration; gratitude; I Am affirmations; and deep relaxation using yoga nidra principles. Each session focuses on one element: teaching you what it is, why it works, and how to make it yours before guiding you through a full practice that closes with deep rest. By the final session, you will have all five elements and the understanding to carry them forward on your own. This is not about adding another thing to your day. It is about reclaiming its end.

Meet your Teacher

Norma Serena has been drawn to the practice of stillness since childhood, introduced to autogenic training by her mother at a young age, long before the language of nervous system regulation or mindfulness had entered the mainstream. That early foundation shaped everything that followed. Today she is a coach, a certified mindfulness teacher and trained yoga instructor, with a deep grounding in somatic practice and the science of rest and restoration. Her approach to guided meditation is informed equally by lived experience and formal training and she understands not just how these practices work, but what it feels like to need them. The Evening Ritual course was born from a personal practice she has carried for years. These sessions reflect what she knows to be true: that the way we close a day matters, and that returning to stillness is a skill anyone can learn. And come home to.

Lesson 1

The Rose, Thorn, And Bud Practice

In our first session together, we review and practice a powerful reflective exercise called the Rose, Thorn, and Bud, which allows us to focus on something positive, our Rose, give space to something challenging, the Thorn, and cultivate the positive energy from something we look forward to, our Bud. At the end, I will guide you through a relaxation practice so you can drift into sleep directly.

Lesson 2

Breathwork To Clear The Day

In this second session, we are going to practice a simple and effective way to activate our parasympathetic nervous system, the rest and digest state, by following a breath pattern of 4-2-6, inhaling for a count of 4, holding for a count of 2, and exhaling for a count of 6. We also revisit the rose, thorn, and bud from day 1 before we move into a relaxation technique.

Lesson 3

Gratitude To Rewire

In today's session, we add a gratitude practice, not to pretend there's positivity where there isn't, but to rewire ourselves away from the negativity bias that has been helpful evolutionary speaking, but often ruins our day-to-day experience.

Lesson 4

I Am Affirmations

In today's session, we are adding I Am Affirmations to our ritual. These are not aspirational cues or wishful thinking, but reminders of the authentic truth within us. They are a way to return to ourselves and remind us of what is already true, even if we temporarily forgot.

Lesson 5

Yoga Nidra

In this final session, we'll dig into Yoga Nidra, or yogic sleep, as our deepest and longest relaxation practice. We will go through our ritual one last time and complete it by adding this fifth and final element of yoga nidra.
