Part 1: Developing Body Literacy (Day 1)
Welcome to the first part of your body awareness training. To access awareness of your inner body sensation, you first need to know how to perceive internal sensations, and how to articulate your sensations. Therefore, in this first part of the course, you will learn to identify body sensations. This skills is called body literacy, which is the ability to identify and articulate sensory experience. Your ability to identify and describe sensation is a fundamental element of developing body awareness. This is because when you can identify and name your sensory experience, this gives you way to relate or associating to your body. Once you are able to do so, it will become easier for you to identify how the experiences of your sensations connect to your emotions, and also to know how your environment connects to your sensory experience. In other words, you will learn to understand how what happens around you is connected to what happens inside of you.

Part 2: Developing Body Awareness (Day 4)
Welcome to the second part of your training. In this second step, we will be focusing on developing your body awareness by learning to bring attention to inner body experience. This involves learning to focus attention inside the body.
Often, paying attention to what is happening inside your body can be an unfamiliar concept. Therefore, you will learn multiple strategies, so that you can have different experiences and pathways for accessing your inner experience.
Today, we will begin with practicing paying attention to your breath. You will be attending to and feeling the sensation and flow of inhaled and exhaled breath through the body. You will also learn to intentionally feel into your body and experience a softening of your tissue as you intentionally contract and relax your muscles. You will also learn to bring attention to a specific area of internal body (e.g., inside chest, shoulder girdle, abdomen, etc.).

Welcome to Day 5 of your training. In this session, we continue our focus on developing body awareness by refining your ability to bring attention to your inner body experience.
