Thank you for taking the time today to do this inner child meditation.
Regardless of our age,
There is huge benefit to reconnecting with our inner child.
Not just to feel more youthful,
But to heal some trauma.
Some trauma that we experienced when we were very young.
And we've carried that around with us until today.
This can be small things or bigger things.
But either way,
Our inner child deserves some love and care from us now.
So just breathe slowly into your belly to start relaxing and easing yourself into this meditation.
So breathe deeply into the belly,
Through the nose.
Now I want you to imagine you're starting to approach a beautiful forest.
The trees are tall,
The air is fresh and you can see a path leading into the forest.
Of course you're curious so you start to walk down this path.
Your bare foot so you can feel the little stones and the leaves under your feet.
It feels great to reconnect with nature in this way.
Just as you may have done when you were a child,
Playing outside.
But now you're much older and carry around a lot of baggage with you.
But you will see how this baggage is going to become much lighter today.
So you feel excited as you walk into this forest because you know you're going to be entering and engaging in an act of healing and freedom.
You don't yet know what it is you experience in this forest.
But you know that this forest and the feeling of being here is beautiful.
You start to notice that you're not alone in this forest.
Because behind a tree about 20 meters ahead of you is a small child.
How old are they?
They step out onto the same path that you're walking on.
And they slowly start to walk towards you.
You start to notice that it is a younger version of you.
With a massive smile and just as happy to be here as you.
They put their arms out to embrace you with a hug as they walk towards you and you do the same.
You hug and it feels amazing to reconnect with the child that you once were.
It feels so safe.
And it feels like you've needed this for so long.
And they also needed this for so long.
They had been waiting here for you.
And they're so glad that you're finally here.
As this younger version of you looks up to you,
You ask them,
What do you need?
What is it that they say to you?
What is it that they want to tell you?
And what is it that you tell them?
Maybe that's in response to what they said.
Or maybe that's something completely different that you really want to say to the younger version of you.
You take their hand as you speak.
Sitting here in this beautiful safe forest with beautiful bird noises and the leaves slowly rustling in the wind as you tell each other what you really want to tell each other.
You tell them that you're there for them.
You tell them not to worry.
You tell them you will always be here when they need you.
And they tell you that they've never left you.
That their youthfulness is always inside of you and always ready to have fun.
You tell them that you will be there for them whatever happens and you will be their most loving parent.
Please see how your inner child or the younger version of you loves those words and seems to find them very comforting because it felt so alone in a big wide world.
You walk further into the forest together with your ear open for anything that this younger version of you wants to tell you.
Now is time to say goodbye.
Although you know that your connection will never be broken and you've rekindled an amazing relationship.
Take a deep breath.
Come back to this room and open your eyes.
