Our mind is always wandering.
There are a lot of thoughts obsessively and compulsively flow through our mental plane.
In day-to-day activities.
We come across things that we get obsessed with.
The more distracted the mind is,
The more we run up behind those obsessions.
If these obsessions are fulfilled.
Then they produce addiction.
And more distraction on the mental level.
And in the event of unfulfillment,
It leads to depression and anxiety.
So a balanced mind is key.
But the question is,
How do we achieve it?
Suppression of thoughts is not a solution.
As well as escape or ignoring is also not the solution.
Before we learn to attempt to achieve inner calm,
First we have to become aware of noise.
Or disturbances to the calm.
Many a time we are not even aware of our obsessive and compulsive thought process.
That is why we witness the inner workings of the mind.
Witnessing what the inner noise is.
To withdraw oneself from all outside stimuli.
And to be aware only of the workings of thy mind.
What it is thinking,
How it is reacting,
And what images are coming from the subconscious.
It will make one understand the workings of one's own rationale and irrational mind.
As well as giving one an understanding of what makes other people tick.
With the regular practice of witnessing the thought process,
The distractions on the mind level reduce.
