Closing your eyes and taking a few deep breaths,
Relaxing your tummy,
Shoulders and jaw,
Letting your body go soft and relaxed.
Taking in a deep intentional breath now,
And holding it gently at the top,
Before slowly releasing it.
Feeling a wave of peace wash over you as your nervous system starts to calm down and relax.
Again,
Breathing in deeply,
Hold,
And then release and exhale,
Relishing in that peaceful wave flowing around your body.
And one more time,
Slowly and deeply inhaling,
Holding gently,
And then releasing your breath as slowly as you can.
Seeing yourself now walking slowly across a grassy path in a beautiful field of colourful wildflowers.
The sun is high in the sky,
Making you feel warm,
And a soft breeze makes you feel perfectly comfortable and grounded as you walk across the field.
On the other side of the field you notice a small stone building.
Walking across the field towards the building,
And as you do this,
Pondering your unhelpful story that you would like to change today.
Your story might be something that you constantly hear yourself saying,
Or notice yourself thinking that is not in support of your own flourishing.
Whether your story is true or not doesn't matter,
Just choosing something that is detrimental to your life that you would like to improve.
This could be a story that's been with you your whole life,
Or one that's only developed recently.
As you approach the stone building,
Setting your intention to let go of this story today,
And to craft a new story that will support you to be your most authentic self moving forward.
Stepping inside the doorway now to the small building,
It's darker than the bright sunlight outside,
But it is softly lit well enough for you to see a small wooden table in the middle of the room.
You notice that on top of this table lies two books.
One of the books looks old,
Weathered and worn,
And the other book looks fresh and new.
Picking up the old book now,
Knowing that this book is your old story,
See your story written as the title on the front of the book,
And inside this book you may read words or see pictures or be able to watch events play out.
Opening the book and seeing that within the pages are situations,
Circumstances,
Events,
Beliefs and life experiences that have led you to form this story.
Messages that you received as a child,
The way you were treated,
Traumatic and significant events,
Your own self talk,
Your survival instincts.
Taking some time to appreciate your history that has contributed to this unhelpful story that you plan to change today.
Flicking the pages forward now to see how this story has been impacting you and affecting your life.
Noticing if you have been feeling negative,
Holding yourself back or staying stuck or filled with frustration.
Noticing all the ways in which this unhelpful story has impacted your ability to flourish and thrive.
Now,
Flicking forward in the book again and noticing that there are empty pages towards the end,
Your future is not yet written.
Now you have a choice whether to continue to live this story or to adopt a new story.
When you feel ready,
Closing the book of your old story and placing it back down on the table,
Affirming to yourself now,
I am worthy and deserving of a new story.
I choose to adopt a story that allows me to thrive as best as I can.
Taking a breath and integrating this commitment to yourself.
Feeling yourself expanding as you release your old story from the depths of your being.
Thanking this old story for helping you in the past and for trying to meet your needs and letting it go completely.
Noticing that only the new book remains on the table now.
Feeling your heart open and your energy come alive as you hold this new story with so much potential in your hands.
Thinking about who you truly want to be,
What matters most to you and how you want to handle yourself as you move through your life.
Your new story doesn't have to be fanciful or the opposite of your old one.
You can simply find a story that feels positive,
Optimistic or even neutral.
Craft a story that feels hopeful,
Purposeful and aligned to your truth.
And seeing your new story becoming the title across the front of this new book.
Opening the first few pages and seeing how your life has already changed due to you making this commitment right here and now.
Seeing how you will be your true and best self as you move forward with this new story.
Holding this book close to your heart now as you imagine how you will fill the remaining pages of this book with your new incredible story.
Taking this book with you as you turn and return to the daylight and begin walking back across the field.
Feeling a sense of freedom,
Expansion,
